That shot of the Testarossa coming around the corner was pretty iconic.

Another one of the superb episodes from Miami Vice showing how much superior this show was to the 2006 big screen remake and the show was more than just fast 💨 cars and bright colours.

Batista played by Maria Duval was one of the greatest MIAMI VICE villains.

Jai-alai is still played at the same venue where the scenes for this episode were filmed. The facility became Casino Miami Jai-Alai in 2014, and the frontage was finally updated after several decades of neglect.

Brilliant stuff! The final shot fired by Frank is clearly the sound effect attributed to Crockett's S&W 645. I wonder if they edited the original ending but not the audio? Carlos Cestero (Frank), returned in 'Borasca' as Arturo Riva

I wonder what happened to the actress Maria Duval who played Isabel Batista? After this Miami Vice episode she seems to have just disappeared from the limelight. She seemed to be a really accomplished and skilled actress. I wonder what happened to her?
@DanielThureskog8 ай бұрын
She has a surprisingly common name. There's the Mexican actress/singer, Argentine actress, Italian scam artist, Fort Lauderdale-based realtor and her. There's not much to go on.

Frank shoots Batista...then Crockett in return shoots Frank? Last shot I heard came from Sonny's Bren 10.
@donaldallen98042 жыл бұрын
When the episode ends Sonny doesn't look like he's in a position to shoot a gun, and when that episode ended it was so ambiguous as to what happened we're only left to wonder. Did Frank hit Batista? If he did was it fatal? I really hate episodes that are left open-ended like that.
@retro-dademusic64032 жыл бұрын
I believe we are intended to perceive that Frank fired his weapon. Regardless of whether Batista was shot/killed, Frank’s career was over by that point anyway in this tragic (but awesome) episode. 😎

Sonny had moved on to a S&W 645 by season 3. Dornaus & Dixon had discontinued the Bren Ten by this time.

@@cologne2792 Thank you for the correction and explanation. NEVER knew the difference between look or sound of the two guns, given the FACT that they sounded alike (probably the same sound effect to make it sound as if he had been using the same gun.) I always thought he used the same gun throughout the entire series. I was 11 when the series premiered in 1984, and 14 when the series ended in mid 1989. I was fairly young, and I was NOT a gun aficionado back in the day.
