It's just musical evolution. It happens. The last 2 albums were very different in sound, comparing them so it's only natural.

It's like the Metallica thing, where some people hated that they used an acoustic guitar on their second album, then people hated that they were being played on mainstream radio, then that they wrote songs that weren't played a million miles an hour and heavy as fuck. Musicians grow a lot, creatively, and shouldn't have to write the same things all the time, just to please a few people. Frank's still punk as fuck, he probably just has other ideas he wants to do.
