I’m back from my Lake Como Comic Art Festival in Italy. Boy, that two week trip just flew by.
Okay, let’s get this ball rolling. First up on the drawing board, since I’ve been having a blast watching Invincible on Amazon Prime, is Invincible.
Invincible is created by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley. It’s essentially a reimagining of Superman. It’s a great comic book and a cartoon.
So, here’s Invincible meeting Superman.
The whole video took about 45 minutes to draw in real time.

Frank, I've been a fan for 11 years and I owe my understanding of drawing anatomy to you. I know anime and manga isn't really up your alley, but I'd love to see your take on Devilman...if you want to try something different sometime.

Hello Franck, I think you should untape your drawings. In order to prevent it getting out the camera's field you just have to put the tape on your desk giving you the position of your drawing from the camera and not getting out the defined area. So we can see you moving your drawing around and you could be free to draw as you mean it. Thank you for the time you spend making these videos for us. I really like your drawings. You could also let us more time at the end of each videos so we can pause it to admire your talent.

Amazing artwork as always, Frank! You did a great job drawing that upside down Superman considering the constraints you had to work with. Just one small correction there: Invincible was co-created by Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker who drew the first, I dunno, 12-20 or so issues IIRC before leaving the title and being permanently replaced by the crazy talented Ryan Ottley.

@@frankchoartist Well, to be fair Invincible can't hold a candle next to his father Omni Man which is a sort of a fascist parody of Superman so there's that.

Looks like it was inspired by David Finch with his drawing he did over a year ago online with his Monday Night Draw youtube show, where he drew Invincible standing over Omni-Man. Same pose. And Omni-Man was in the same position you drew SuperMan in.

This drawing was straight out of my head. It wasn’t inspired by Dave Finch’s version. Now, I’m curious. Can you post Dave Finch’s version just to see how similar our two drawings are?

@travisnobleart I guess, he said it "looks like" meaning he assumes Frank was inspired by Dave. The only difference or disagreement id have is the Monday night draw ideas are commissioned from fans, so we can't say he's implying Frank copied Dave because it was an idea given to Dave. Not to say you were accusing him.. Maybe you were right to assume. Who knows? Frankly speaking, in fandom, a lot of these character match ups are discussed and thought of years before professional artists put them to paper. So it's hard to pin point where these ideas or concepts originate. Subconsciously we compare similar characters and consciously create these ideas without direct influence, so there's always that. No new idea is truly original and theres nothing "new" under the sun.
