I really love the relationship between Frank and Fiona. Actually I love it much more than his relationship with other kids. Fiona has always been the first one to take care of Frank, since she was a child, and then all of the responsibility made her tougher and more realistic. She can’t trust Frank, in many ways she hates him for all the shit he’s done to her and the kids that she loves so much, but I believe that deep inside Fiona loves her father. And Frank actually cares about her, even though he doesn’t show it. Both editing and music are so so so great, you did such a great job. Frank is, of course, to be held accountable for his own actions. He is a bad person, a terrible father and has made kids' life hell. I do think he cares for his children, in some twisted, selfish abusive way though. I also think that in a world where he didn't meet Monica and get dragged into her world and her bullshit he would have made one hell of a dad.
@VioletEmerald3 жыл бұрын
What makes you think it's Monica's fault he's a bad dad? I don't really see the connection there. He isn't even in the home so much of the time, and when he was he was so completely self focused, it's like a joke of an exaggeration to even just call that "bad" parenting...
@celestefieramonti3 жыл бұрын
@@VioletEmerald Wait maybe I didn't properly explain myself. I'm not saying it's Monica's fault Frank is a peice of shit of a dad - that's absolutely on him, he's responsible for his own actions. All I meant by that is that I think in a world where he didn't get mixed up with the drugs and the alcohol and everything else Monica introduced him to, and where he didn't have that toxic relationship with her, he would have made a good dad. I only mentioned her because he started down that path when he met her. And it was all hypothetical, too. He is awful, and he's a shitty shitty father, and that's no one's fault but his own.
@VioletEmerald3 жыл бұрын
@@celestefieramonti You gotta wonder though if you can ever really blame a peer/love interest/friend for your intense most-of-your-life addictions that wreck the rest of your life. Didn't we meet Frank's mother in one episode and she was horrible? I think there's always more of a childhood trauma root cause to most addiction related situations later in life, a lot of research is pointing towards that... I mean there is a reason someone would be drawn to an individual like Monica, even if it's hard to really see it at the time.
@celestefieramonti3 жыл бұрын
@@VioletEmerald Absolutely! I wasn't really thinking about it at the time, but that 100% played a huge role too. Childhood trauma does tend to impact people way more into their lives, and meeting his mom it's clear Frank had a lot of that. There were a lot of screwed up situations that led to him being the person he is, and that's not to take responsibility away from him. It's sad that whenever something like this happens, even in real life, it's kids who pay price.
