This tour just brings a somber feeling over me, knowing that office was the place that Frank gave his last interview.

You can get a look into his life if you read 'Freak Out! My Life with Frank Zappa' which describes Frank's home life at the log cabin from May 1968 to September, and then at this house Woodrow Wilson Drive when it was just two bedrooms and a small separate one-bedroom/bathroom in the back.

it's moving to see that Frank did like all these remembrance stuff. although he rejected all other ideas of nostalgy. I love his working environment, especially that it much looks like mine.

Interesting, but as Joe says, things were changed between when Frank had things and what you are seeing in the video afterwards. You'll have to go to photos to see it 'as it really was.'

I hate seeing this knowing what I know ,Ahmet and Diva allowed Frank's $9.8 million dollar mansion and studios to be sold to lady Gaga for a quick $5 million, Frank's horrible wife Gail had sheriff's repossess Frank's Guitar collection he gave to Dweezil in front of Gail & all the kids because he's the only musician ,I hate knowing Gail allowed equipment to be stolen or sold from the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen studios ,I hate how Gail allowed the guitars she repossessed from Dweezil to come up missing ( sold ) ,I hate how Gail Zappa lied & told everybody frank didn't leave a will spelling out who gets what and finding out after her death that frank left an explicit will ,I hate knowing Gail went against Frank's final wishes that she keep the Zappa eat ate out of the music business after he sold his entire catalog to RYKO ,I hate knowing Gail squandered most of the $40 million dollars he left the family was squandered by gails frivolous law suits against RYKO that lasted well over a decade ,I hate knowing Dweezil is not in possession of the Sheik Yer Booty guitar ,Frank's SG ,his Les Paul or his Gibson ES ,and I most definitely Hate how Gail repoed the Jimi hendrix/Frank Zappa fender strat dweezil had fender rebuild and frank gave to dweezil as a gift ,then tried auctioning off the most legendary guitar in the world all because Divas "Career " knitting sweaters has her broke ,and Ahmets career has stopped once dweezil parted ways with him .

1) your info appears to come from gossip boards and what-not - a will is a PUBLIC RECORD filed by the court by one's attorney - there is no way in hell that FZ's lawyer/firm would have not had it read at the time of death to his family and there is no way any part of it would have been avoided, legally 2) GZ was FZ's heir - I personally don't like many things she did, but when someone is dying and things are not witnessed or put in writing, "gifts" have to be proven to have occurred and legally those guitars were her property - otherwise, he wouldn't have given them back nor could she have obtained court orders to that effect - Dweezil should have had the guitars signed away by FZ and some 3rd parties should have been around to see it done
@paulinebutcherbird4 жыл бұрын
@@brianhammer5107 Relived to read your comment correct to much bias and incorrect assumptions. I'm interested in your comment about the will because I also was under the impression Frank's will was held back. So just to make sure I understand your point: you are saying that Frank's will, by law, had to have been read out by a lawyer after his death to all the family and those recipients of the will? Is that correct?
@paulinebutcherbird4 жыл бұрын
You got the prices wrong. How do you know he left $40 million? The house was never worth $10 million. They bought it for $74,000 in 1968. I think it sold for around $3 million. Others will correct me. Me thinks you do extrapolate too much.

The room is so claustrophobic. Imagine spending your life down there, cooped up, never taking exercise, never eating properly, sometimes sleeping down there, working at nights. No wonder he got sick.

That's what composers did. They suffered for their art. Looks quite nice I thought. Does your house have a tennis court on the roof? A recording studio? And a vault with all your master pieces? And if you have, send me some pictures. I would love to see them
