One of my favorite campaigns in the 80's, I just love it because it's all about living in the city, with a lot of pride that they want.

Calgary wasn't the only Canadian market that used the campaign- ASN on the East Coast also used it, but the "Hello (region)" tagline at the end was replaced with what the first two letters of ASN stood for (Atlantic Satellite (Network)). A number of Australian stations also used the Hello campaign...DDQ/SDQ in SW Queensland used Hello News for its intended purpose, with Tasmania's TasTV and the large-market Seven O&Os using it solely for imaging.

if you could, you should do local versions of the Peters productions alive promos. I heard somewhere aside from New York, there were others. I found one, KENS in San Antonio TX. also, you can feel it from the mid to late 80’s or 90’s. IDK the company, or don’t stay home without us.

Originally from Milwaukee, now pretty much universal. Thanks a lot, Cleveland Channel 5 WEWS-TV... "Makes no difference where I go, you're the best darn place I know, Hello ____*, Hello **______***, Channel __** loves you!" *insert real or fictional location here **insert number here For example: Hot Wheels City and Channel 4 (WHWC-TV) Bikini Bottom and Channel 8 (KBBT-TV) Adventure Bay and Channel 50 (KPUP-TV) Storybook Village and Channel 49 (WHY-TV) Congratulations if you got all 4 references. References 1 and 2 were easy, 3's a little trickier, and 4 is for fanatics of my least favorite kid's TV program (There's a hint for reference number 4, right there.)

It's strange that NONE of the many stations out here in the Pacific Northwest -- Oregon and Washington -- used this campaign. Seems like at least one in Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Eugene, or even smaller markets (Yakima, Tri-Cities, Bellingham, Medford, Klamath Falls) would have done so.
@tkaye28 ай бұрын
Except for San Diego and Santa Barbara, it wasn't used in California either. I could see it playing well in Spokane or Sacramento but it doesn't have the right sound for the largest West Coast markets.

Too "traditional" or even corny for "sophisticated" LA, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle? Is that what you suggest?

At 54:15...had the right station and city, however it's actual state is Missouri, but it did cover the northern part of KY and the southern part of IL as well as SE MO...and the only reason I can recall this is I used to live in the Cape Girardeau area for years, although my real home in in the SW part of MO...which by the way you got spot on with KOLR 10

...but they couldn't convince their station manager to that the campaign was designed with three syllables for the place name, inserting "In" or "the" or stretching for two-syllable names. "America's Heartland" is five freakin' syllables; that and the out-of-tune amateur vocalists may make it the most painful incarnation. I love to imagine Florence Warner just refusing that tongue twister, the local choirs and musical theater students doing the same, leaving the worst amateurs in to the slot. "The Heartland" would have fit just right. I grew up with WXII, which officially designated with the 9-syllable "Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point" but was commonly referred to as the five-syllable "the Piedmont Triad" on area stations. But for the Hello Campaign, they compromised to fit the song cleanly with the three-syllable "the Piedmont".

Is it bad that i perfer the WMBB "Say hello" over the original? It's sad more affiliates didn't use that variation
