I laugh at clueless people who say that goal wouldn't have made a difference. At that point England were boiling with momentum up until lampard's disallowed goal. momentum plays a huge part in football and that's a fact.
@eddyvideostar10 жыл бұрын
Eugene: I am trying to understand your point, but, because of this disallowed goal, you had believed that this had changed the momentum of the game. I what way? England began to sulk and throw in the towel due to despair, or would this not have been expunged from the minds of the highest ranking players in the country, in order to do the business of which they had set out to do? Did they quell and squash all of their plans, hard work, training and skill and overlooked mental discipline? So what happened? Momentum is built from the aforementioned. Losing momentum is as saying: "We have lost all of our skills and desire because of this negative moment." How on earth could this happen? A big man would have said: "We were beaten." This would have procured more respect from fans with character.

Eddy, England were left chasing the game and germany scored their last two goals on the counter. At 2-2, the germans would holed up and been way more cautious; it would have basically been a different game at 2-2. Then smug little lahm wouldn't have made his stupid little alpha male comment. And anyway, this is roughly the same German squad which mauled Brazil 7-1, so England didn't do all that badly.

The ball hit the line in 66 but whether it was 3/4 over or 3/4 not over was pure speculation to the naked eye at that speed. In this case the ball was 2 m over the first time and even the 2nd bounce was still 1 - 2 m over the line. It's not debatable to do anything other than agree it was a goal. However it is debatable whether England would've won anyway, which I highly doubt. I have to say this doesn't come anywhere near number 1 in a list of games I've felt aggrieved by incorrect refereeing decisions (especially if I was to include club as well as country). England have actually been prevented from winning tournaments without doubt because of bad decisions in other tournaments but in my opinion this decision didn't cost the team anything. If we were going to win WC2010 we would've left it as late as any winner has ever done to start showing the quality required to lift the trophy.

+Football_Legends15 Good point but to be honest England didn't deserve to get any further in 2010. Put it this way there's many England teams I've watched that I would've much preferred to have seen gone all the way, England team's that were actually good enough as well to win a major tournament but we were robbed or extremely unlucky. England teams that were worthy of fans crying for them instead of 2010 almost completely not caring because they were so bad. Why the hell England were even playing Germany and not Ghana in the last 16 is more disappointing than the goal-line decision. I don't know why Ukraine were even complaining in 2012 vs England. Had it been given, it would've been yet another bad decision against England in major competitions because Ukraine were offside in the build up. If the linesman got his first decision of their attack correct then they'd have nothing to say at all. They still should have nothing to say, I know if I was them in that situation I'd see the decision was evened out, more of a consolation than some of the decisions England have been on the receiving end of in WorldCups and EuropeanChampionships where it wasn't evened out at all.

The goal in 1966 was inconclusive. You're just hanging on to it because there is no definitive proof that it was over the line, but there is no definitive proof that it was not over the line either. I don't know what the ref saw. Maybe he saw it go over the line and called it, or maybe he didn't see it and just had a guess. Either way, there is no way you can sit here in 2015 and tell me that ball definitely did not cross the line. The Lampard one however, was proven from multiple angles that was 100% over line. So the comparisons here isn't really valid.

In 1966 it clearly went over the line if you watch it so im not sure why alot of people are saying its revenge. Anyway England will fuck up germany in 2014 if they play them.

Germany will embarrass England. England won't get far enough to play Germany.

it wasn't really revenge at all for 1966 and besides if somebody going to the linesman it was on the line then it would be different if did'nt cheated and sepp blatter did'nt care he was the responsible for the goal technology

Not being funny but the way we have played the last couple of games Germany will wipe the floor with us, they have such a strong team and very tactical, don't get me wrong I an avid England fan and patriot, just stating the truth, I wish down in my heart we win the world cup every single time we play in it and everytime we play a game.

Regardless of the drama, what a fucking strike , Lampard was an incredible midfielder with the intuitive finishing of an Inzaghi or Les Ferdinand.. thought I’d throw him in there. Great player.

ezactly why goal line technology should have been added before the world cup ffs we could have won but the fucking ref was blind

I don't think you would've beaten Spain nor would you have beaten the Dutch team at that time...

VAR probably could have been avoided if Germany had at the start of the second half simply allowed England to walk the ball into the net, levelling the game at 2-2.

All those people that diss VAR, have a word with yourself, we were crying out for it in 2010 when that happened, and the cheek of the keeper grabbing it out the net and playing on, that’s why we have such rivalry with the Germans, wankers.

Karma for Geoff Hurst's Wembley goal. It's a shame for Frank Lampard, but still, in a way, justice is done.
@dannyjamison24629 жыл бұрын
Please provide proof that Hurst's goal definitely did not cross the line. Every footage I have seen from that final is inconclusive. I don't know what the ref saw. For all we know, he saw it cross the line and called it. It was in 1966, the camera angle was woeful. There is no angle definitely proving whether it did or did not cross the line. Totally and utterly incomparable to Frank Lampard's goal.
@notactive13789 жыл бұрын
There is amateur camera footage out there looking at the side of goal. The ball hits the line but doesn't cross it. The ref was obviously unsure, so he consulted the linesman who awarded the goal. From there you could go into all other sorts of debates. About bias because West Germany put the USSR in the last round, grudges towards the Germans for past events perhaps? It doesn't matter anyway, England got the title that year and that's what the rest of us in Britain keep getting reminded about. And that's not the fans' fault. It's the fucking media.

Can’t believe this! This is why they should’ve added goal line technology earlier! when I saw this type on controversy I was like “WHAAAAAAAAATTT”
