I saw Frank perform this 38 years ago at a huge auditorium in Phoenix. I had already playing the Live album a couple on hundred times by the time I saw Frank perform. It's truer - it's even better to see him live. The atmosphere was *electric*. All these years later I still get chills watching and hearing him play. I pray he will someday return to the road. There is no better!

Strange Universe was the first album that I heard. My older brother had the 8track tape in his car. One day he hired me to clean his car for him and gave me permission to play a tape or two and that was the day that I was turned on to this musical genius. OutF-ingstanding is the word. Changed me forever. Thanks Frank!!!

A couple of years ago, a co-worker walked by my office and heard me in there listening to Mahogany Rush. He came in and told me that he had heard that Frank Marino had died. I walked over to the computer and found Frank's web site and asked if it were true. Here I've copy pasted Frank's response~~~~ The Reports of My Death Are Greatly Exaggerated.” ~ Mark Twain Same here. Frank ~~~~ To me Frank is one of the most under appreciated guitarist/vocalist on the face of the earth!

One of the most underrated guys to ever blister six strings!!!! Been listening to him since 1978 when I was introduced to his music from a bandmate. I have that change out of the bridge and first blistering solo then starting at 3:31 going into Frank's continued blistering lead stuck in my head... Everyone is on point especially Dave Goode and Marc Weber. This is what real fucking music sounds like!!!!!

Mr Frank Marino, I came across you not long before the world was locked down. I felt ashamed and saddened that during 30 years of searching for and listening to bands and artists, I never came across your work. I was looking forward to seeing you on tour, having been blessed with so much of your 'new to me' work to listen to over 'those' couple of years. I'm gutted that you have had to call it a day, I guess for selfish reasons of personal audio satisfaction. I wish you all the best for your future, you deserve happiness and peace. A very wise, close friend of mine (an elder of blues and rock music) advised me at a young age with the following words... 'If you want to listen to something new, listen to something old'. That advise will stay with me until the day I die. Thank you Frank!

How cool to hear of someone else seeing shows at The Bayou. I grew up in Rockville in the 60s & 70s & went to many a show there. One of the best for myself was Rory Gallagher for 5 bucks & sitting in front of him, what a gracious & fantastic guitar player & all around musician. I missed Frank but i have no doubt you were in for one hell of a show. We were lucky as hell to have these venues like The Bayou, The Cellar Door , Desperado's, Constitution Hall & The Wax Museum. Some great times for sure.

The least the management could do is give us eager impatient fans an insight of what to expect such as a teaser of what rare song's will be included on the DVD, or even how long the DVD will be, how many songs over how many days etc. It is not right that so many questions of a release date etc are being completely ignored. I heard on a Frank interview that one reason for the delay was the copyright issue of some cover songs he played. Well, a simple solution to that is that he drop the cover songs, as he has more than enough originals to play that will blow us away. Yes, good to hear Roadhouse Blues, King Bee, Johnny B Good, some Hendrix etc. But I would be more happier if he played Go Strange, Power of Rock n Roll, Ain't dead yet (in full), Ride my own wave, Juggernaut etc
@BrianHadley356 жыл бұрын
well it still 2017 so maybe there is a chance. I'm assuming it will never be released then if it ...it will just be a pleasant surprise. I agree....if there are problems with copyright...dump the songs. His best material is his own anyway.
