There's only one Frank Sinatra. I love this song and how he presents it.

I have found myself listening to this song recently. The live version is superb, also. This was a winner in my youth, and is still in my Autumn. Frank and the rest, have not been replaced.

He was early coming in on the fifth verse, and he knew it, and adjusted brilliantly!

Sinatra could not read music and he certainly never arranged...but in a recording studio he ran the entire show often stopping to make corrections with the orchestra and even the arrangement....i have many hundreds of such studio takes

johnny gordon, pianist at "lafitte's blacksmith" in french quarter, new orleans about 1985 said a pal musician who was a gambling addict wrote the song cycles but sold it for 200 dollars. sad, the lyrics tell's his storey.
