Frank Sinatra was my grandpa's favorite singer, and while they were playing him a CD, he took his final breath right before the end of this song. An appropriate departure from a suave gentleman.

I was 19 years old when I heard this song for the first time, and it literally changed my life. I grew up in a poor family in rural Louisiana where you were expected to follow the crowd. When I paid attention to the lyrics something in me clicked. I joined the Marine Corps, married an Asian girl to whom I've married for 25 years(my dad disowned me for that), became a full contact fighter, and became fluent in another language. I'm almost 50 years old, teach martial arts, still married to a girl that I love and I still get tears in my eyes when ever I hear this song because of how much it changed my life.

My mom died this March 23rd. She loved this song and it was played at her funeral. My mom, my dear sweet mom, she was no one's fool, she wouldn't take shit from anyone, but she was very classy and beautiful. And if ever there was anyone who did it their way, it was her. One month later April 23rd, my dad died. They were both unexpected. I am sadder than any man has a right to be, next week will be my first birthday without my mom and dad.

I dedicate this song to my dad who passed away on July 23, 2018. He had just turned 90 on July 11, 2018. He was the BEST dad and always put his family first. They just don't make them like that anymore! There was a radio show in NY called "Saturday with Sinatra" and he would go into his room and sing along for the 3 hours it was on. I remember it like it was yesterday, my dad had a beautiful voice and when I hear Sinatra, especially this song (we played it at the wake) I just cry like a baby. I was the youngest in the family and he always said " you will ALWAYS be my baby, NO matter how old you are." Thank you for being the best dad and for everything you always did for me. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH MY DADDY!! Rest In Peace My Daddy until we see each other again. Keep mom safe with you always. I love you both!!

This song was played at my Grandpa Frank’s memorial service two years ago after he tragically died from cancer on the night of October 8th, 2021. In all my life, my Grandpa Frank was always a kind and loving grandfather, with a heart as big as the shed that he built in his backyard. And he had been supporting my family for generations. And it breaks my heart to see him go. And I’m not gonna lie, this song totally makes me cry tears of joy every time I listen to it.

How sad, the people who never lived life the way they wanted and have passed. This was my grandads funeral song and he lived up to living life his way, he spoke up when he thought something was wrong, he stood up for his beliefs and never let people tell him how to act or behave. My family used to scrutinise him for wearing a cap he loved which supported a union he believed in. He never took the hat off. He was not another boring mundane forgetful face, a lot of people still know of him and speak about him - 15 years after his death i still find people who know him who I've never met in my life. He inspires me every day to not give in to living life just to please others and conform. The most powerful feeling must be lying on your death bed knowing you spoke your truth and stayed true to yourself every day you walked this earth.

My uncle passed a few weeks ago, surrounded by us all, with this playing. He was awake up to the "of one who kneels" part, smiling through every part, with a content look on his face, knowing that he spent 95 years trying to best himself, but finally realising that there was nothing to best, he did it all perfect, in his own way. He closed his eyes, and took his final breath on the long "MYYYYYY WAYYYY" at the end. Rip Albert Sheeps, 1922-2017

Every time I hear this song I cry. From a peaceful, caring world, the world has transformed into a disgusting terrible environment, where money is all that matters. The calm good o’l days are no longer to be seen, and all that matters, is that you are the best, and that you have money. The world has changed, with all this new technology, and tech, but will never be as good as it was before. And even though, we are developing more, is it for the good, and, is it for the better of us? I do not think so. Yes, we have literally anything I can think off, but will that make a change to our mental health or the calm world we had before. I would rather have none of this technology, but live in the past, the beautiful past, the irreplaceable past, the one I’ll miss. And I am just sad for all these new generations, which are not able to see the past, who then portray it as bad, but it is actually better. Edit: Spent so much time, just for no likes, I hope someone sees this though

And I can relate very much, we played this very beautiful song during my Grandads funeral and let's say he went out with a bang!!! All the crowd, his old work mates all stood up and clapped their hands in cherish and memory of how exceptional a man he was. My grandad was a very caring, important and loving man who would had done anything for anyone any job wasn't too big or too small for him to complete. Just a shame he passed 2019 December 16th..was meant to reach his 80th Birthday. Let's just say, it was a very quiet Christmas. I still listen to this song to feel somewhat closer to him again .

why would you love that? its a ruination of the pre-DBZA fans. watching a classic song you love be ruined by the constant commenting about this tall green child beating bug man isnt something you should love, its something you should be lamenting. people dont come here to read DBZA comments - and those that do are the kind of assholes who would leave their own "like this for DBZA" comment even though theres a hundred of them already each with over 1k likes - much like how i wouldnt go to a DBZA video expecting to hear about frank sinatra and his other songs. dont get me wrong, i like cell singing the song, i like DBZA, i DONT like it when popular things take old things and do their own thing with it thus opening the floodgates to all these shitty commentators saying "lol loved cell, RIP" or "like for DBZA" or "cell sang this better". they did it with mr blue sky and GotG, they did it with bakers street and rick and morty, and now theyve done it with this.

I am a student at a modestly sized high school in Denmark. Like most other educational establishments we have an annual musical, where volunteering singers, dancers, actors and muscicians perform an entirely original play, writen and directed by fellow students. While our school isnt famed for its artistic students or high production value, we do pride ourselves on the fact that this is completely done by the students, with little involvement from outside help. Out of curiosity, i decided to join this performance as an actor, and managed to land a pretty decent role despite my practically non-existent experience. The writers/ directors of that year were incredibaly talented, motivated and inspiring to the rest of the group. So much so that my friend managed to talk me into volunteering for writing and directing the next years play, and against all odds we ended landing the job. So there i stood. I had no leadership experience, no practical knowledge of acting- theory and no plan for the future. I knew that a group of roughly 40 people would be looking to me for guidance, which i was in every sense of the word, incapable of providing. I have always been a bit of a shut-in, prefering sitting in front of a monitor over speaking to a crowd. My friend was barely better off, lacking experience in the same degree i did. So what could we do? Nothing to do but to begin writing the manuscript. The days were long, and the days were many. But a summer vacation and 13000 words later we were ready to recruit our team and show our finished manus to the world. Due to the excellence of the last years performance and instructors there was already a large group of performers looking forward to participating again. But for the first time, our inexperience came to show. We failed to recruit more than a few new actors. We lacked the charisma and the skill to lure in new help. Those were rough days. Plagued by a dwindling number of actors, with several crewmates jumping ship to spend their time elsewhere. Every man and woman have a breaking point. A point where the obstacles in their path force them to crumble and retreat. To give up. To flee. I reached mine after a couple of months. i could not motivate the actors to learn their lines and i could not reestablish the close bond i felt with the crew the previous year. After a partularly rough practiseday i came home, concidering passing the torch to someone more capable. Hell, even a teacher would do, despite the pride we took in our independence. But on that day, a song randomly came on my Spotify playlist. A song which i certaintly enjoyed, but never gave much thought to: "My Way". As i listened to the voice of Frank Sinatra bittersweetly remember his losses and victories i realized that could be me by the end of the project. Standing tall, taking the blows, doing it my way. Finishing what i set out to do... That could be me, if i could only bite the sour apple and see things through. And i promised myself that just as soon as the curtain dropped and the play was over i would head home and listen to "My Way", reflecting over these worst and best days of my life. So i saddled down: I got my act together, threw on the face of a leader no matter how unnatural it felt, and set out to create a magnificent show for the friends, family and everyone else who came to see the fruits of mine, and everybody elses labor. Things started changing: Actors starting taking things seriously and learning their lines. Scenes started to flow naturally and the band began to sound professionally. Even the crew was bonding, and everyone began to look forward to the mondays when we practiced. The play was coming together. And we began nearing the premiere. Today was our final perfomance. We bowed to a standing applause, and to the unquestionably positive reception from everyone i knew. I did what i had to do, and saw it through without excemption. I made it to the end. And so as i sit here at home with tears of joy, relief and disbelief rolling down my eyes for the first time in years i am reminded once again that i am human, and that life is a gooddamn crazy rollercoaster full of ups and downs. All that is required is being brave enough to take the step, and enjoy the ride. This is my story, or part of it at the very least. It may not be nearly as exciting as the superheroes of Stan Lee, the life of Frank Sinatra, or the conclusion to the third season of DbzA with the death of Cell. And yet this is something i will carry with me forever. The ups and downs, the joys and perils... it has made me a better person. Because (at the risk of sounding arrogant) this was never the work of an idol seen on a tvscreen. This was my dream. My work. My way

This level of passion and innovation you describe is a large part of being human. This creativity and inspiration that seems almost tangible at times is what drives us forward as creators, and it is because of people such as yourself that tenacity and passion will continue on to touch future generations in a profound way. It is our creations which will outlive us all, and it is up to us what our individual legacies will be, what future generations will remember us by. Thanks to your passion, the beginning of your legacy has begun. May you stay true to your philosophy; do it your way, and nobody else's. May your life be long and your legacy be great.

fuck these comments. love DBZA but hate those who feel the need to mention the popular thing on something because the popular thing mentioned it. GotG did the same with mr blue sky, and now you assholes are doing it with DBZA. also theres an actual video of cell singing this song on the TFS channel, why cant you comment the reference there instead of feeling the need to drag it here?

This is why I'm glad Guitar Hero and Rock Band aren't around anymore.... so I can talk about music again without talking about how hard it was on Guitar Hero.
