That's life (That's life) That's what all the people say You're riding high in April, shot down in May But I know I'm gonna change that tune When I'm back on top, back on top in June I said that's life (That's life) And as funny as it may seem Some people get their kicks Stomping on a dream But I don't let it, let it get me down Cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet A pawn and a king I've been up and down and over and out And I know one thing Each time I find myself Flat on my face I pick myself up and get Back in the race That's life (That's life) I tell you, I can't deny it I thought of quitting, baby But my heart just ain't gonna buy it And if I didn't think it was worth one single try I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet A pawn and a king I've been up and down and over and out And I know one thing Each time I find myself layin' Flat on my face I just pick myself up and get Back in the race That's life (That's life) That's life and I can't deny it Many times I thought of cutting out but my heart won't buy it But if there's nothing shaking come this here July I'm gonna roll myself up In a big ball and die My, my

1:44 "i'd jump right on a big bird and then i'd fly" is it just me, or does this verse sound like it was changed in the editing phase from something a bit darker, like "and if i didn't think it was worth one single try, i'd jump right o_f a br___ and then i'd d__" in fact, is it just me, or do other people have a memory of that verse being different? maybe it's the mandella effect or something. maybe i'm just crazy.

That song is the 'story of my life'. Especially this part. ........"I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, A pawn and a king. I've been up and down and over and out. And I know one thing. Each time I find myself. Flat on my face I pick myself up and get Back in the race".......These days we have the so called "Great Resignation" bullshit. Which means we're dealing with a bunch of college grads or dropouts] that want to 'start' at the Top of a company, rather than work their way up with a company. My daughter being one of them. I works my ass off in the oil fields in Oklahoma, laid track for the Santa Fe Railroad and many many other HARD physical work jobs, and eventually worked my way up into the Corporate world. Nobody [GAVE] me anything. But the Millennials don't want to work. They want Free money from our Government while they sit on their Lazy asses and do absolutely nothing. They contribute 'Nothing' to society, and want Everything.

Can you not group millenials together as if they're just one living breathing hive mind? Each person is different, I happen to know someone very special to me thats Gen Z and he knows how hard life can be, and hes willing to really work for it. I am too. Don't talk shit about other generations and then expect others to respect yours

I love that song, except for the last sentence. If "there's nothing shaking come this here July", don't roll yourself up in a ball and die. Just pick yourself up and get back in the race once more, as you did before, my man.
