This song was made thinking of a war, but the quotidian life is a war, where we are our worst enemy. The lyrics are perfect and does reflect.
The Impossible Dream
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest, to follow that star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To be willing to give when there's no more to give
To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live
And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star.

For the person reading this message I hope you are doing good, I want to share this in a lot of comment sections so it can reach everyone possible including you so please read until the end: God loves you a lot and he wants you to be saved and happy, nothing in this world like money, fun or popularity can fill the emptiness in your heart, only his son Jesus who died for you can fill you who might not nothing know about him. He knows you more than yourself. You who turned your back to him, he is still waiting for you with his arms open to receive you again. You who fought against him and have done things that are unforgivable in your eyes, he will always see you as his son and he already paid the price for all your sins. Even if the world doesn’t forgive you, all that you need is God and everything will be alright, so trust God and no one else. Repent from your sins and never go back to them, and the most important thing is that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior with your voice and your heart, when you do all these things, pray to God and read the Bible(Christian Bible not a Catholic since the Catholic one might’ve changed the word of God to something that it is not God’s word but men’s, so read a christian Bible) so that you get to know God. Follow it’s word completely, because some people might say that the times and things have changed, but God never changes, the Bible says that the heavens and earth will pass but his word will never pass and that means that the things God didn’t like back then he still doesn’t like today. So don’t let anyone tell you that now you can have sex before marriage or something like that just because everyone does it, because the Bible says that wide is the path to destruction and many walk through it. When you pray, ask God to guide you so that you always walk in his righteousness and so that he gives you strength so you don’t fall to sin, and don’t just say I am a Christian and never read your bible or end up not praying because being a follower of God means building a father and son-daughter relationship with him. Fast and pray and be his son not only in words but also in your actions. Today God has showed grace to you who might be depressed, empty, are being hated or hates, or maybe you don’t receive genuine love this is even for you who enjoys or is comfortable with your current life. Whoever you who is reading this is, know that God is calling you to give you a future and a hope in this life and in the eternal life. Trust him, because he loves you so much that is beyond understanding, and the time is short. After you finish reading this message you might die or Jesus might return, so be ready and follow him, for today he stretched his hand to you because he loves you and cares for you and he doesn’t want you to go to hell, so please go to him, it will be hard because living for God means denying yourself and the things that you might like, but it will be the best decision you will make in your entire existence and I promise you it will be worth more than any of the things that you don’t want to let go of. Make the right choice, because today God has stretched his hand to you who he loves so much that he even died for knowing all the bad things you have done. That is how much love he has and will always have for you. I don’t know you but you might be going through hard times, so keep these words in mind that God gives hope to the hopeless and he heals any wounds including the ones from the heart, and he can do the same for you regardless of anything. Thank you for reading, God bless you always❤️

This becomes the cry of mans heart. To do his best and give his all. When you have dreamed your dreams. Accepted your tragedies. Given your best love. Fought valiantly your battles. Forgiven yourself. Accepted the will of God. Entered into oneness with Him. Found yourself complete. You have discovered the entry into paradise. E W Bullinger slightly paraphrased

Indeed, never give up. Even when you are feeling close to giving up on everything. It's only 2.5 years ago that I was laying on the couch of my best friend. Telling her that if I could take a pill to end it all, I would without any issue as my life is often covered in pain, when I have the feeling that I'm literally breathing through glass. Yet, today, I'm married for 2 years and 3 months with an amazing girl (I found her something like one month after that 'couch session') and preparing for another adventure. All by giving everything to reach that unreachable star. Life is too beautiful to give up on, even when you have a lot of scars (physically, mentally and emotionally) to carry with you. Life is a blessing, given by God. One thing is important though, never ever give up on other people who are in even more severe situations (for example the children of Gaza).

The Impossible Dream was Composed by Mitch Leigh. The lyrics by Joe Darion. It was the principal song in the play Man of La Mancha. As Cervantes and his servant mount the staircase from the dungeon to go to their impending trial, the prisoners, led by the girl who played Dulcinea, sing The Impossible Dream in chorus. The Broadway Production ran for 2,328 performances.

Sinatra's version matches the original in a way, more modern versions just cannot equal. I've listened to several versions. The others are technically superior in vocal techniques and range. Yet, there is something truly genuine and heartfelt that defines this (and the original) as the quintessential definitive version. Something that speaks to a man's heart. Something that I cannot explain, yet I must say what I have to say. Truly magnificent. The unreachable star attempted, and it is glorious. Thank you, for making this world a little better by your singing.

To dream the impossible dream To fight the unbeatable foe To bear with unbearable sorrow To run where the brave dare not go To right the unrightable wrong To love pure and chaste from afar To try when your arms are too weary To reach the unreachable star This is my quest, to follow that star No matter how hopeless, no matter how far To fight for the right Without question or pause To be willing to march Into hell for a heavenly cause And I know if I'll only be true To this glorious quest That my heart will lay peaceful and calm When I'm laid to my rest And the world will be better for this That one man scorned and covered with scars Still strove with his last ounce of courage To fight the unbeatable foe To reach the unreachable star

I don't think I have ever heard Frank's version before, probably have as I am just into my 70's. This is a song that has to be sung with feeling, you have to believe what he is stating. I did. You cannot just sing this song, you have to believe it!

The lyrics to this send an arrow to my heart. So that honour and justice may live. People all over the world need to take heed of this lyric. We as a species need to realise what makes us human and what matters to us. Honour and justice is the foundation of society and we should build society from this value. We have lost the plot. Some of us have. Not me. I live by Honour and Justice and liberty for all no matter what your creed.

Most of the Time, we feel the beatings of life - failure after failure, funds are always too short, you give your best but you get back more beatings, more injustice, you are shortchanged - you often want and you do cry - you are not alone, my friend - all of us get into that feeling of being in an "Impossible" rut - but do not give up - take stock of yourself - if you think you have lost in Life's struggle . . . come on . . . there are more People who look up to you because you have made yourself what they thought they have done for themselves . . . Count your victories, your triumphs when you have reached your 60s . . . before you say Goodbye to this World . . . Smile, you've done your part . . .

Love these lyrics..... Absoluolutely right from the heart....right to the heart...right to the spirit. The TRUTH always wins! If you can look into someone's eyes and they look into yours....while carrying on a conversation....most likely they are real and honest people. And to help one another and have compassion. Not to judge anyone. But to stand in unity.

Reading FC used this song for their promotion video from the 2011/12 season. The video shows the highlights from our tough run in, including games against West Ham, Southampton and Nottingham Forest, ending with the players celebrating their promotion with the fans celebrating on the pitch. The club played the video at the last 2 home games of the season and was well appreciated by the fans. For this reason, this song makes me cry with happiness every single time I hear it. Beautiful.
