Thanks for sharing this great clip. It might be worth taking a second look at the transcription though. I heard the whole thing in 4/4 and I think some of the rhythms might have been different than what you wrote. Probably better than I could’ve done though!
@InternationalYogurt

Yeah, the figures themselves are mostly fine, but where they start and end is.... interesting. Some offbeats are notated as being on the beat (and vice versa), but let's be honest: with horn sections, it can sometimes be hard to tell. It's definitely all in 4/4 though, unless it's a very avant garde arrangement in which the drums and vocals are playing in a different meter than the horns. I'm sure something like that exists (and it sounds like a fun idea), but in this case, redoing the transcription in 4/4 is probably a good idea.

So I haven’t had many sticky valves at concerts, but I have an even more anxiety inducing moment, so for starters I am in football, and marching band, and it was game day, so I had to rely on somebody else to bring out my sousaphone, but I had a percussionist do it (big oopsie) and they had taken my mouthpiece and tubes case off of my sousaphone case and put it in the band room. Long story short I marched an entire 3 movement pice with my hand to my mouth to make it look like I had the mouthpiece under my hand, while smashing my valves to make it look like I knew what I was doing, and worst part is, my parents noticed and I still get made fun of almost a year later. THE END

If you're wondering why he keeps pushing that button with a worried look on his face, his 2nd valve is sticking (it's not moving back up into its proper position as fast as it should). If it doesn't move all the way back up, he'll sound like someone stuffed a sock in his horn. The reason it's sticking is either 1). he forgot to lubricate the valves with oil, or 2). he recently dropped his horn and dented the valve casing and/or the 2nd valve slide, or 3). one side of the 2nd valve piston is smoother and shinier than the other because he plays with his knuckles instead of his fingertips and doesn't push it straight down, resulting in valves that stick no matter how much you oil them. Whatever the case, he's skilled enough to play most of these notes without pushing any valves down at all, but faulty equipment sucks in the middle of a performance.
