I met him on a beach with my young son in Lanzarote about 20 years ago. He came across as a truly nice guy as well as being an exceptionally talented footballer.

Worthington, Marsh and Bowles......the greatest England forward line that never was. Supported by a similarly overlooked midfield.......Alan Hudson, Duncan McKenzie and Tony Currie.
@jameswiglesworth50049 күн бұрын
Having a laugh, Peter Osgood, was better than Worthington, Marsh and Bowles put together, agree on Hudson and Currie, less said about McKenzie the better.

Great guy, I first saw him in the fa cup tie against Birmingham in 72, then he played for the blues, then I met him in Marbella around 84, fantastic person, sorry he passed away so young. I never forget seeing him from the tilton road end as I hung on the railings as one of 58000 blues fans all standing and swaying with nowhere to pee.

He didn't pass away young, he drank like a fish and still got to 72

He used shop for clothes in my uncles shop. Back then I was playing football with the likes of Gary Lineker at schoolboy level, he always used to tell me to keep going don’t give up.

one of a few great players and personalities of that era who walked to their own rhythm and damm the torpedoes.

Wat a player, gifted footballer , but like a lot of players of that generation, Alan Hudson, Stan bowls, Peter osgood, George Best , Malcom Mcdonald, Charlie George, just couldn't behave themselves. Just imagine the value of them players in today's market. Frightening. Mind you, they enjoyed themselves😂😂

I remember years ago , we went to watch the Blues against Ipswich, in the FA Cup we lost, nightmare journey back, got back to the old Skandles in Solihull, and in there was, Frank Worthington, Tony Coton, Noel Blake, Mark Dennis, Pat Van de Hawe, Keith Bertshin, missed as farts😂😂 happy days

He was one of the speakers at a sportsman dinner at Sheffield Utd years ago, couldn’t believe it,players like Frank and Rod Marsh I absolutely idolised when I was growing up in the 70s. When he found out I was a Villa supporter he proceeded to go through virtually the entire team as to how crap 💩 they were. A certain Mr Collymore came in for some particular stick 😃 At the meal I was sat in the middle of Frank and Norman Whiteside, they both asked for my autograph 😁
@simonprodhan505010 күн бұрын
magnificent player and a great character like all those 70s mavericks, i don't recall him wearing ladies tights however, do you mean his old leicester team mate keith weller? weller famously wore white tights during the winter of 78/79 which was very cold as i recall, i think he wore them in a cup tie, it certainly wasn't frank who of course had left leicester by then

@derekskinner he had high blood pressure, so was told to go to Majorca and chill out, hoping that would help. He just partied, lol.
