Thank you, Milos, for mentioning Mohamed Makkawy You cannot talk about aesthetics, classic lines and giant killers without bringing up Makkawy. He defeated Lee Haney more than once. .and his posing, along with Chris Dickerson's, was out of this world. For a bigger classic physique, yes, Bob Paris and Berry DeMey and yourself as well. Also, Rory Leidelmeyer as a non-pro. You're also right about Lee Labrada being the closest to Frank Zane's physique. The classic poses he hits and even when he's just standing relaxed on stage, very reminiscent of Zane.

I was waiting for Makawwy to be mentioned what time stamp was this?He defeated Haney five times and had imo the greatest posing routine ever.He is in my top 6 most aesthetic with Ray...Wheeler..Clairmonte....I liked Zane more offseason than in contest shape...He just lacked fullness due to his genetics a bit too scrawny tbh.Offseason though amazing!

It's interesting to hear Chris talk about training and winning the Olympia. Ronnie used to sling the weight also. Dorian and Ronnie had completely different training Styles but both brought that gnarly hardness and density. I watched them both compete in their heyday. No question in my opinion Cormier structurally had all the tools to win that show if he could have put it all together. He never came in with that nasty peeled striated look though. I thought his best condition was his rookie debut at the Ironman when he got second to Vince Taylor. I was there.

@Vegar Seljenes Zane gave a number of seminars in the late 70s/ early 80s including one the day after the 1980 Canadian Championships in Hamilton, Ontario ( Canada). When asked if he took steroids this was his reply " Yeah I take steroids, I'm not going to lie to you like other guys and say I don't " He was then asked if one can compete without steroids. His reply " Yeah you can compete without steroids but you aren't going to win" In addition in some of Frank's writings he actually made poems about steroids. If you think I'm a Zane " hater" I actually met him on 2 occasions, have a photo with him and have communicated with him in recent years by email.

But when they get on stage they lose all that fullness in there legs and they are left with decent side and rear shots.. but whats all that to 2 giants like Samson and Andrew if they come conditioned and full... they are taller and more aesthic and may not have the best backs they have enough to win and even expose the shorter bodybuilders.. Hadi has a better shot against Samson and Andrew then Derek or Nick.. those guys are more popular on Social Media.. doesnt make them better then Samson or Drew.
