I'm just curious since you moved the shocks inboard why not mini tub the car and use the 5 and a half inch backspace wheel?

I probably should have and I probably will. I knew I wanted to make a video on fitting the 275 in a stock wheel well and that was one reason.

On my old 72 Nova i had 275/60 Bfgoodrich Drag Radials on Centerline Drag lights and had to roll the finder lips and the blowout on those tires are right at 13". I wish Bfgoodrich would come back with those Drag Radials you couldn't beat'um....

I don't know if there is a difference between a 70 and a 74 but I used a 5" bs with good results. Your build is looking good and I can't wait to see it done.

what is the wheel and tire combo on the front? My '73 is sitting as a bare shell in the shop with the cowl cut out to fix the rust in all the normal spots. I found your channel looking for anyone that has done the same conversion as the FrankenNova, as that is the plans for mine. Waiting on the trunk video, mine needs that also. And as we all know the '73 trunk pan is a no go for replacement sheet metal.

The front are 15X4 with 195/65/15. As far as the trunk, I should have just replaced the whole piece while I had the tail light panel out. Now I’ll probably buy a whole trunk and just replace the main center section. Thank you for watching!!!

So I'm building a 68 and I was wondering! Everyone says 5" backspace is the magic number, would you agree?for the rear! What did you use on the front?

I agree 5 inch is the right BS for a 275/60/15 but a lot of wheels aren’t available with 5. I’m running a 5.5 wheel with a 1/2” billet spacer on one car. It works well but all cars are a little different due to tolerance stacking.

I'm definitely going to get a set of those sub frame connectors to throw on the Camaro. I really like those wheels as well and if I decide to ditch my factory turbine set then those could be a possibility as well. Going to totally steal your Nova's look but with a Camaro....hahaha.

I have the 275/60/15 with 5" bs on the rear, the question is what's the best size tire to use on front with a 15x7 rim with a 4 3/8 bs rim. Stock front end with big block springs.

I’m using a 15X6 on one car with a 196/65/15. Same tire on a 4.5” wheel on the other car. Not sure if it will fit ok on a 7” wheel. I’ll do some measuring.

My silly ass got 18x9.5 for my rear. Right now i have 255 that rubs with the lip rolled. Im looking for a shop that can mill the back pad down a bit so i can run bigger wheels.

Yep. Or 5” like my draglites on my 73. The problem is a lot of cheaper wheels only have 4.5 or 5.5.

Can you change the front bolt pattern from 5x4 3/4 to 5x4 1/2? I got the same wheels and the fronts are 5x4 1/2.

Hello. I lost my body mount spacers a long time ago when I switched over to solid mounts because I didn’t read the instructions now I need to buy some new ones, my question is does each mount require one or are they only for front section or rear?

You only need two. The ones at bottom of firewall.

Just out of curiosity would putting the actual drum brake on help push the wheel out a bit. I have a 70 nova with some vision wheels with a 5.5 backing space and only on one side did i put a 1/4 inch spacer since it had a slight rub with a 275/60R15 on a 15X8 wheel should fit perfect. I know those cars had about a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch difference in length from driver side to passenger side . Great build. How low will your car sit??

Thanks for watching. The drum didn’t make much difference. The tire was way into the body. I would have needed a 3/4” spacer. Been working on car slowly. It sits about an inch lower with gas tank and trunk lid installed. On the rear, the axles and tubes are equal length but rear sits off to passenger side about an inch. At least I’m every car I’ve owned.

Dang I’ve had a few set of them spacers. I got to check and see if I still have them I didn’t know there was a difference. Oh and what desalt is that your using 1/2 or 3/8. I need that you getting the job done quick

It’s a 3/8 dewalt impact. Works pretty good for most stuff. I recheck my tires before I drive. Not sure it’s got enough torque.
