Finally purchased the wheels and tires I wanted for this Nova. I'm going for the Pro-Street look. Tell me what you think!

Looks good, fronts should be fine once its on the ground, I fit 295/50 on my 74 and trimmed my quarter lips, you could add room at shocks with Mcbay shock extentions, they kick the shocks in a little.

Thanks buddy! These achievements have more meaning than you know. Took 36 years to cross these off my bucket list.

Nice set up Steve! I got 295's to fit with a two-inch mini tub on 15x8 Chevy rally wheels which barely hit the inside lip when driving with two people. I'm on the fence going down to 275's or cutting 3/16" off the inside fender lip to keep the 295's stance which looks bitchin to me.
@stevesgarage76445 жыл бұрын
Yeah having those wider tires is pretty killer. For cutting the fender lip, just watch that you can only cut so much before the shape of the upper part above the lip brushes the tire, making it useless to cut the lip out any further. Mine still brush the inside of the upper fender just slightly, but I can live with that.

Hey, what kind of lift is that? Looking for one for my garage while I rebuild my 72 Nova as well.

Man you are a life saver. I have the sanr size rimes front and back with the same back spacing. I couldnt find anyone to tell me if they would work. I got the ridler 695 matt black. Thanks
@stevesgarage76445 жыл бұрын
Dont forget I had those rear rims machined down on the inside. The stock back-spacing is not enough and even with that it still rubs with some weight in the rear. 6" back-spacing would be better.

Steve's Garage I wasn’t able to find the tire size used so I went with a 255. When I find a 2 door I will switch all my parts over and get the 275.

@@stevesgarage7644 is that stock ride height and shock placement ?
@stevesgarage76443 жыл бұрын
@@marcusguajrdo73 Yes it is stock shock placement. The ride height was very slightly raised with the coil-over shocks as I needed about another half inch to clear the tires a little better.

Wheels and tires look sweet! Probably get away with a thin wheel spacer up front to avoid rubbing the frame
@stevesgarage76445 жыл бұрын
Well the Wilwood disc upgrade is going to move it out 1/4 inch so I'll see how that works out. But that's a great option. I think I have room at the outer fender to use a spacer if I need to. Thanks for the tip!

I have my eye on those same rims for my nova , but I'm gonna go with the black ones, your front tires don't rub when you turn?

With correct offset of 6 in I believe 305 tires will be possible

Just got some new wheels for my 74 Moordor Nova, 15x8 w/ 5.0 BS (rear) and 15x7 w/ 4.25 BS, I was contemplating 275/60R15 and 215/60R15 for the fronts. I've seen everything from 5.0 works, to it doesn't work, to moving the shocks inboard with a Calvert setup, personal opinion?
@stevesgarage76443 жыл бұрын
You should be fine. That's plenty enough BS for those rims.
@augustodancarrillo87955 жыл бұрын
That is nice- What’s the back spacing on those rims and the offset? Thx 👌
@stevesgarage76445 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The fronts are 4.5" back spacing and 5.5" on the rears. www.jegs.com/i/The-Wheel-Group/306/650-8961G/10002/-1

Hi Steve, I know it’s right but thinking about going same size with my 72. Everything is stock but everything does clear when actually driving? No crazy rubs or anything? Appreciate your help and your videos!
@stevesgarage76443 жыл бұрын
The rear does rub slightly if there is enough weight in the car or hitting a good bump in the road. Using those coil-over shocks gave it the added lift to get it off the tires. But those rear rims need more material taken off the inside to inset them a bit more.
@joshuar59273 жыл бұрын
@@stevesgarage7644 ok, thanks!
@joshuar59273 жыл бұрын
So, you’re thinking you’re going to have them machined down in the rear only?From your video it looks like they will rub on the inside then wouldn’t it? Sorry for so many questions. I am looking at the same sizes as you but the Ridler 695s.

can not see 9.5 wheels fitting with out rubbing , you should have gotten more backspacing i needed 5.5 maybe your rolled wheel lip is the thing but Backspacing does not look right
@stevesgarage76444 жыл бұрын
It is 5.5 backspacing, but I would liked to have had 6" to really clear it. I have coil-over shocks now which gave me a bit more clearance. Its tight!
