I’m autistic and ADHD, and I struggle with reading more than I did when I was younger. I am hugely appreciative of the reader’s easy command of English which imparts the meaning and context of the characters to the listener. I listened to the prologue and I will continue later with Chapter One. Thank you very much, this is wonderful.

I cannot wait to dive into this. People always see Frankenstein's creation as a lumbering, grunting monster. Surely, in the beginning of Shelley's story he was inchoate and primal. But by the end, his eloquence, philosophies, and understanding of the human condition are fully evolved. His confrontation of his creator is the point where the reader has that moment of introspection: "Who is the real monster here? Is it the Creature? Is it Frankenstein? Is it...us?" Thank you for turning our collective attention back towards this classic and powerful tale!

I really appreciate your work in narrating these stories. I suffer from chronic pain so find it difficult to concentrate and read for too long. Your channel has been a real tonic. Thankyou, Mr Walker, from a rather soggy N Wales 🏴

For many, many months now, Tony Walker's outstanding narrations and commentaries have been a significant part of my pain (and related challenges, like anxiety and depression) management! Aside from being wonderful entertainment, his work is like serious and effective anti-anxiety and/ or anti-depressant medication--- or, as you said, "...a real tonic"!🙂

Tony, once again, bravo! Such a beautiful reading of one of the greatest stories of all time. Mary Shelly was an absolute genius. That she wrote this at the age of eighteen still astounds me. As for Victor... while he gets the much-deserved blame for callously abandoning his Creature, I've always felt his greatest crime was in not speaking up for Justine. I mean, man up and take the bullet dude! Justine was 100% innocent and you considered her a sister. Even if your story wouldn't have been believed (though surely you could have produced some sort of evidence of your work), your intervention would have sowed enough doubt to exonerate Justine. Victor Frankenstein truly was an asshole.

Excellent reading of this classic horror novel! I've never liked Victor Frankenstein much. He's always seemed rather selfish and overly self-involved to me. For instance, his friendship and love of Clerval seem based at least somewhat on Clerval's devotion to him. He lacks courage, as well. If he'd thought of someone besides himself, he'd have realized that he had to do something his creation. Teach him, give him to someone else and pay for his care, or even destroy him, but not simply turn his back and run away. As for the creature, I feel very sorry for him at the beginning, and I am still rather sorry for him at the end. It seems that with someone to teach and guide him, he would've turned out very differently from the monster he became. He obviously had the intelligence to learn, but he only received the harshest lessons
