also, i never considered black sabbath as heavy metal. they were always hard rock to me and i saw them live in the late 70's and grew up on their music. heavy metal is judas priest, iron maiden, etc. sabbath is hard rock.

They screwed for good in 70s by companies and people around them.I think they never had a manager like Zeppelin had who promoted them well and take care of promotion and all that.They were a great band but without people around to help them even their LPs cover are weak comparing them with other bands artwork back then.And i think their big problems started after usa and vol 4 with cocaine stuff.Still they achieved a lot but they could do much more together

He lost everything he had on drugs and treatments... What he has now is a little part of the fortune he had on the 70's. He is just tired to be treated as the least important part of the band, and he is right!

it was upsetting when bill broke the promise made on 11/11/11 but you make a very good point, being a drummer for sabbath after two heart attacks is not a good idea.
@Obi-WanKannabis11 жыл бұрын
That's a point of view. I do not judge anyone's decisions, because we don't have enough data to critizice. But I agree with you. We can't just blame Bill Ward. And if the problem was about an uneven split, I'm slightly dissapointed on them...

People keep saying it's all about money with bill. All i've heard from the rest of them is that his demands are unreasonable? That doesn't have to be money. That could be about his health and demands about touring dates or time off that won't happen with certain show business logistics. Also if it is money and he's had heart attacks maybe he needs the dough. Trust me when i tell you the Medical Business can drain anyone of their money. Because that is there business!

It's too bad they had Rick Rubin involved with that album... if you need to second guess/ need someone elses ear/ opinion then your music and inspiration are lacking...on their first three albums they didn't need that layer of bullshit to create something good...after hearing the album I'd say Rubin is definately overrated

I'm not certain it matters what type of amp you use in a stadium, it all sounds like one homogenous mess. It's like a drummer using Paiste instead of Zildjian. Who's going to notice? Product endorsements are largely marketing ploys and that's just about it.

To everyone saying that without Bill Ward there is no black sabbath, I hate to break it to you... Bill chose not to play. He wanted more money. He wanted this he wanted that he wanted more... That's always been his mantra. For him I really don't get the impression that it was always about the music. I get the impression its been about the dough the entire time. Sorry, this is just my opinion. The man has more money saved than most of us will ever earn in our lifetimes...
@cloudwizard76943 жыл бұрын
They treated him as a session musician. If they were going to do a "original black sabbath return", then he should be treated as such and get paid even if he would have been to sick to play. It's about recognizing him for what he was for the band. Replacing him and cutting his due speaks volumes. But we can thank Sharon for this and many atrocities involving Sabbath and Ozzy's solo carreer musicians. I can't listen to Ozzy's music without thinking of all that stuff.
@mikeredrugger3 жыл бұрын
@@cloudwizard7694 I didn't say that he shouldn't have been paid to play, read what I said again please. As far as treating him as a session guy, absolutely not, if you read the multiple interviews and watch the multiple interviews he was offered a very reasonable and fair sum of cash. As far as being paid more than what he was offered that's a very subjective statement. However this is all opinion and not fact. So have a good one and enjoy the music.
@cloudwizard76943 жыл бұрын
@@mikeredrugger But can you say he would have gotten paid for the shows where some other guy might have replaced him? The whole story is funky and I just don't buy it that Bill just wanted more and more money.
@mikeredrugger3 жыл бұрын
@@cloudwizard7694 When the band says that he wanted more money then I'm going to listen to them. Also if he doesn't play a show he doesn't deserve to get paid for that show, just as if Tony didn't play a show he doesn't deserve to be paid for that show. It's pretty simple, if I don't show up for work I don't get paid for that day. Neither should they, you earn what you get.
@cloudwizard76943 жыл бұрын
@@mikeredrugger They (=Sharon?) tried to do a deal that was unfair and have the replacement musicians on the tour. It's retarded to think it was about beeing greedy. If you had paid attention, the whole "reunion" thing was sour from the beginning.
