I remember the first time I heard this, it was the night Frankie debuted it at the original Sound Factory on 27th, I had been living in NYc for about 6 months, hard town with no sign of much compassion for the fellow human being. Yet on this night the yellow lights washed the crowd which was made up of all walks of life, from ultra rich to ultra poor, black & white and every colour in between of the human race along with all types of beliefs were present under one groove. Suddenly this track hit and I witnessed 2000 instant smiles light up the room with utter bliss, no fighting, no hate, just LOVE and grooveynesss!! Thank you Frankie, R.I.P.!!!!

Have a great memory of hearing Frankie open his set with this at a big beach party in Dubai a year or two before he died. I was so happy to see him play live for the first time. Sadly the idiotic promoters put him on first. This legend of a man was basically a warm up for acts that weren't fit to grace the same stage as him. I guess that's Dubai for you. Totally clueless about the history of house and the people who shaped it. House music isn't the same without him but he left us some great tunes.

Being pedantic but you say the song transcends gender then go on to say it is a song for every MAN. Just a bit contradictory that's all.

I was on holiday in New York from London when this was out & The Sound Factory was THE club to go to. An amazing space, the sound system was incredible & the music was totally brilliant of course with Frankie Knuckles on the decks. I'm so glad I experienced dancing to this there. So many classics from that era. Great memories!

This Classic track I heard first when I started going to Sunday Skool in the early '00s. Dj Rice would spin it as his last track of the night. Upon hearing it for the first time, me and my friend were overjoyed with emotions ! It was something we had never heard before in a song, with the whistle delightfully playing. I mean, House music was so fresh to us, and for Rice to top off the night with this 'one-of-a-kind' track was marvelous ! The sensation and emotions felt then can not be felt again like that - I truly do treasure those moments. Like Sade says, ' it's never as good as the first time ! "

The song takes me back to a better time, when I was younger, had less sense, was waay too naive and optimistic and full of hope and love.

I was born in 1988 Grahamstown, a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. A gentleman by the name "Dj Happy" used to play this at Radio Grahamstown - the station that takes you to the future. Oh man, what a memory.

Too many good memories with this song as a kid. I'm only 27 but I remember watching my folks get down to house music and I certainly remember going bonkers when I heard this song as a tike. This song brings me back to the good'ol days when I used to be in the L.E.S and watch my folks and their friends groove to Frankie Knuckles during the summer nights in the street or during the winter in a crowded living room floor.

Driving fast on the highway, summer breeze on my face & hair at the time NYC was hoppin' ....today...I still kick it up while driving & listening to this though I am bald, older, I still skate, not bad for an OG at 60 yrs of age. Peace 2 ya who remember the way it use to be.
