One thing that people overlook about the Teenagers and Frankie is that they were not trained and formed by professional talent agents and voice therapists. They didn't have choreographers. They did all that themselves. They created the group and the songs by just singing together on street corners and hallways practicing. This is pure talent in raw form.

I doubt our younger generations even know who Frankie Lyman was. That’s a shame. He was at the infancy of rock ‘n’ roll. Being 78, I remember when this song came out and I loved it. I sang it all the time. I thought Frankie Lyman was so fantastic. I wish he could have still been around till now like some of the music icons of the 50s. The Teenagers were one of the early successful adolescent R&B/Vocal groups and inspired NUMEROUS others across the country’s inner-cities. For young urban people (especially Black Americans), singing or harmonizing on sidewalks, street-corners, in schools, basements, etc. were later generations’ versions of pastimes like rapping, street dancing, video games, doing social media challenges, etc.

Frankie's problems had absolutely nothing to do with his "older women." They didn't push heroin on him and were not pedophiles. It was his superstar exposure to drugs and unscrupulous management with little of Frankie's interests in mind. In my opinion, this child's singing talent was much better than Michael Jackson as a child.

У этого человека был божий дар! Как бесконечно жаль,что этот талантливейший молодой человек не успел показать миру всё богатство своего таланта. Слишком рано ушёл он от нас…

I discover Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers after a search on the songs in the movie 'Christine,' and I am literally amazed. All the more so as I do this on the day of Frankie's birthday... strange coincidence to say the least!

Such young talented youth didn't live to develop his great talent. Unfortunately, some of our youths with such great potentials are still falling in that same trap. .

Yes he was one of my favorite singers, the enemy uses our weaknesses to destroy us and that's what he did with Fankie and the rest . Satan is real , he came to kill steal and destroy. So let's be wise and live for christ and do things for him that will last.
