Once you're back in the groove of medieval gear videos, I'd really like one on the military flail. I'm having trouble finding much information at all about it, specifically how it was swung and what it's applications were.
@Trunn5210 жыл бұрын
applications being a little more specific then bash the other guy on the head with it, because we all know that one.

Awesome stuff, although I had to tune down the volume during jazz (but I survived to the end!). Seems like mister Manning was a real partybeast, may his ghost keep on swinging.

That looked like fun. I like your choice of Jazz at the end. Both connected to Benny Goodman I believe. Looked like agreat show and as someone who has been to both Gencon and Origins it looked like you had much better organization. Well done chaps!

So, that clapping, was it to the up beat or to the down beat? I couldn't tell because the beat seemed at least twice as fast as the clapping.
@DocEonChannel10 жыл бұрын
The people at the end are clapping to all 4 beats. There aren't any more. There are of course more notes than beats, that might be what's confusing you

Looks like fun. I was wondering, what's your opinion of "neo-swing" musicians like Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Brian Setzer?
@lindybeige10 жыл бұрын
They are now effectively banned from all swing dance events. They were sometimes a bit samey or a bit primitive, but not as bad as the current DJ police would have us believe.
@wikieditspam10 жыл бұрын
I severely regret having been unaware of this. Also as a former New Yorker, I'm sorry if the police were wrongly harassing you.

Let me guess; no permit to video in the park, right? Typically not the sort of thing that you have to worry about in Toronto, unless you try to set up some sort of major production number. It might not be the best idea to stage a dance in the middle of the Yonge-Dundas pedestrian scramble, but videoing friends in Dundas Square would make anyone bat an eye. I quite like Jazz, despite not really being able to name more than a handful of songs. On the dancing issue I'll quote Alan Alda: "I can't dance, my head hurts."

@wietsesartsythings96910 жыл бұрын
Dylan Greene Big band is jazz?
@theoriginaldylangreene10 жыл бұрын
Wietse Hoeksel No, that's like saying heavy metal is rock and roll. Just because one spawned the other, does not make them the same. Big band was made to fill dance halls to a level that could be heard by the crowd, it features little improvisation, and doesn't focus soloing between all band members, the jazz of the era on the other hand was solo heavy, and was based on constant changes in timing and key, not very good for dancing.

In counting the number of necessary computers you forgot the smart phones each of those people likely had. And an argument could be made to also count your camera, though smart phones definitely are full fledged computers by now.
