Growing up in the '60s, I would not have predicted that Frankie Valli, of all people, with his high falsetto, would be one of the singers of our generation who would still be able to hit those notes 50-60 years later. But just listen to this. Amazing. What a national treasure he is!

My uncle has been on his rowdy crew for two decades and not only do they run one backing track, they run a redundant one just to make damn sure nothing messes up while he was lip-synching. Take a look at Ashley Simpson on Saturday night live where she got totally busted lip syncing

For anyone who thinks that he is lip syncing this, I had a distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. Valli after a show a few years ago. I told how much I loved his music and singing and mentioned how a lot of people are doubting his vocal talents at his age. He happily sang a few bars of Sherry Baby right then and there. He hasn't lost a thing. It's his voice and his talent. No fakery there.

Theres mics that pick up noise detection and it plays whatever song it is. Vitas does that when he sings Opera #2, but people have figured out he just sings it an octave lower and the music plays behind each time he makes noise into the microphone. Frankie Vali sounds 100% identical each time he performs this, I know it's the same person doing the same song, but there should be some alterations each time, but there's not. Im not even dissing him, he has nothing left to prove, we all know he's a legend and will always be a legend, but he is clearly lip syncing.

Just look at McCartney. He doesn't sound anything like he did in the 60s (or even the 80s for that matter) and he's 8 years younger than Frankie. Even the greatest vocalist on the planet is going to sound much different at 87 than they did at 25. Father Time is undefeated.

Yikes. Sorry to burst your bubble but there's a reason there's a hi hat keeping the beat. They are keeping time to a vocal track. He is not singing a note of that. They definitely run a vocal track that they sync to. They also run a good deal of auto tune on the background vocals. I’ve been a studio engineer for 20 years and a live engineer for 28, I’ve seen these older bands do all the tricks

@@elijahcambry3319 Yep. It's clearly a heavily enhanced vocal recording from his later years (e.g. it's not his "young voice" and they all follow a click track to keep it all aligned. I've noticed his thumb on the back of the mic - bent thumb seems to equal muted mic and straightened thumb is "on" for the speaking parts. (You'll also notice that the "ad libbed" vocals fall exactly in the same place every time at every gig). A real con to pretend it's live. Guess the other singers just take the cash and go with the charade to stay employed. I'd rather hear him live as he really is and accept that backing singers take the high notes. I'm sure they could lower keys to help him sing more of it relatively well.
