I took a psyc class and we also learned about memory With the moonlight one there's multiple ways this long term memory issue could go depending on the type affected. Long term memory has several types: Episodic-memory of events it's like an episode of your life (e.g. moonlight remembers the events of her and sea fairy's wedding) Semantic-memory of facts and info (e.g. moonlight and seafairy got married on x date of x year) Functional-also called muscle memory involving skills. Also called implicit memories (e.g. moonlight knows how to play the guitar) Priming: a thing with our brain's schemas where if one thing is taught it may trigger things connected to it in your mind, e.g. moonlight sees a list of the following words: royal, queen, castle, robe, and crown. Moonlight might say the next word is king, or scepter as those are related to the schema of royalty. Short term memory is about holding info in our mind while we do something else, lasts about 30-60 seconds e.g. moonlight is able to remember contact information while writing it down. What frankie showed was a good episodic memory but a bad semantic memory. While both are forms of long term memory we can still make this work within the headcannon she just has a bad semantic long term memory but has good episodic and short term memory and functional/skill based memory. Moonlight might remember everything said in the last 30 seconds, and the day of her wedding, but not the date it happened on. Another way this could play out is this: moonlight might remember "okay saturday at 8pm, at x place" while making a reservation for having a nice dinner for her and seafairy's anniversary. However she knows that if she does nothing to keep it in her episodic or short term memory, the day will arrive, she'll remember making a reservation but she won't remember the important information about it namely date, time, and location. Meaning she'll arrive on the wrong location, the wrong time, or even the wrong date or all of the above. To counteract this she might write it down on a piece of paper, and stick it on her fridge, engaging her short term memory more, set a reminder on her moon themed home assistant, so it can remind her, have instructions on how to get to the locations in some external form ahead of time, and drive to the location herself a few days before so she remembers being there and going there herself cememting the location in her episodic memory. Day comes, and dang it she doesnt remember the time, date or location of the reservation, her moon themed home assistant says "reminder for moonlight: you have sea fairy 4th anniversary dinner at 8pm today at x location" she gets ready, gets the reminder stuck on the fridge, goes into the car with her instructions, using both that and her episodic memory of driving there, gets to the location on time. Instead of driving seafairy to the middle of nowhere at 1am a week after the reservation passed, she makes it to the fancy restaurant at 8pm, on the 4th anniversary, as intended, saving her anniversary dinner from the worst of her bad semantic memory. She keeps the reminder with her so she remembers that it's her anniversary saving her from more embarrasment she also counteracts this by remembering the events of her wedding day.

Mystic flour head canon is kinda canon tbh cus of the hand gesture she makes.. it's called the abhayamudra hand gesture, which means protection, peace, reassurance, and dispelling of fear and abhaya means fearless in Sanskrit [Edit]: gonna say this before y'all commented. Yes Mystic flour did show fear when dark cacao transformed.. but what I am trying to point out mostly is the hand gesture and what it symbolize. Also I think Mystic flour showed hesitation rather than fear when dark cacao transformed into his dragon lord. And before yall say "isn't like fear and hesitation the same" Well here's a quick search I got. "fear" is a strong negative emotion triggered by a perceived threat, while "hesitation" is a pause or delay in action often stemming from uncertainty, doubt, or a milder form of fear, usually involving careful consideration before making a decision. The reason why I think Mystic flour showed hesitation and NOT Fear because why did she even still fought you/dark cacao cookie if she fears you, because even when dark cacao transformed into its awakened form she still fought you.
