franklin find out about Michael's death and that his best friend Trevor was the one behind it in GTA 5
sadly even after 9 years later Trevor still coulden't forgive michael about what he did before when he did sold him out to the FIB and get brad killed so he decided it's time to finish some unfinished bussniess and kill michael because he was a rat.
Trevor coulden't let his gradgue against michael go no matter how hard he try so he end up killing michael himself.

@@facelessasmr4833 2004 is when michael met dave norton (crooked FIB agent) who had him do the heist where michael faked his death that happens in the beginning of the game. as i said, the opening scene takes place in 2004. between the opening and the beginning of story mode, there’s nine year time jump leaving the game to start in 2013. hope that clears things up lol
