This definitely was recorded while I was there. Mr. Buckley was my Gov’t teacher, Bennetry was the Student Government President and I got the opportunity to be apart of the Blue Night Cafe. Class of 1992

That was my principal Morton Demensk from 1984-1988. I thought they snatched that wig off his head? 4 years of fighting, prepared me for The United States Marines. We had some true legends from the hip hop industry to greatest all time graf artist! I got my Diploma but upon trying to go college after retirement nobody could find my H.S. Transcripts??? Maybe a Blessing in disguise ( Lets just say I wasn't a role model student)

I graduated Lane in 1970. Back then it produced more than it's share of M.D.'s, teachers, lawyers, military careers, and yes it's share of wise guys like Gotti. Makes me sick the it turned into a zoo and now the neighborhood with it around Elderts and east to Richmond Hill and west into East NY... even some from Howard Beach back then. Now it's some kind of "multicultural "school" which it was from the get go, but NEVER thought of as such. Lane was and still is a beautiful building built with a level of craftsmanship that barely exists anymore. At least Neir's on 78th where Goodfellas was filmed is still going strong now supposedly drawing people from the entire city and L.I., but what had to be one of the BEST variety stores ever established, Lewis' of Woodhaven, shut down like 20 years ago. I can still smell those wood floors. Everyone knew John and his family all stand up people. Everyone shopped there and at Christmas you could hardly move in there. I also remember Mike's bar a true neighborhood bar where everyone in the neighborhood knew each other and their family's where you could drink, eat, bet, and play the numbers for a long time. Don't know if it's still there. And Scatturo''s is still there on the Avenue by 85th St. still selling Italian specialties and more you can't find anymore. What memories. We were BLESSED to have lived there and in this Country we will take back.

Nice biography bro, I'm researching Franklin Lane on Wikipedia he even has a mountain ⛰️ peak named after him, back then in the 70s it must've just been the size of a pimple 😉 if ya know what I mean! Franklin was born in modern day Canada 🇨🇦 and was the San Francisco Chronicle's NYC correspondent, as far as I know he was not ever a resident of NY. Fyi

Graduated from Lane in 82, was a very rebellious time for me, I was an outcast by choice, was not a positive experience and I was partially to blame for that. Lots of memories, some good, lots of bad. There were a couple of teachers who I looked up to that gave me some inspiration but most were lame. Lots of fights and general mischief.

Seems about the time they probably stopped emphasizing the English language. too. Now it's a "multicultural school" with I'm sure great results.

With a statement like that I question if you went to Lane at all unless '90 on. Several MD's, lawyers, successful military (MERIT based), and teachers out of my class and years around it - stout people from great working class families. Stout people and yes, had it's share of wise guys too like John Gotti who in fact did drop out.. This was from the strength of the surrounding neighborhoods, Woodhaven, OZP, into Richmond Hill and for sure East NY. The Italians, Irish, Polish, Germans, Jews all gone. Look at it now.
