Franklin Mountains State Park, Texas

I grew up in El Paso and I miss it greatly. It's a great city with a great culture and the Franklin Mountains are beautiful.

@vochitoken Probably not great for astrophotography as Franklin Mountains State Park is near the lights of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. For darker skies, try our more remote west Texas parks: Davis Mountains State Park or Big Bend Ranch State Park. Davis Mountains State Park is located near the McDonald Observatory. The area is considered one of the best spots in the country for stargazing.

I've hiked the peaks from Rim road all the way to Ohara Road! In September and October the lady bugs congregate to breed on the tops of the peaks!

I grew up in El Paso and those Foothills was my playground and it was wonderful I would not give up my past as my growing up for that's the place for kids to grow up

You made no mention of the great inland sea, geology, fossils, etc. Terrible presentation
