I agree with what you said about upgrading your printer. I knew nothing about 3d printing. I purchased an Ender3. Just a plain Jane ender3 not a v2 or anything along those lines. I put direct drive ,silent board, dual z axis, microswiss hotend, hardened steel nozzle and I've recently added a rasberry pi and did a full linear rail upgrade and doing all of those upgrades myself and doing the research to complete those upgrades have taught me so much about 3d printing. I'd go with the upgrade version every time lol. I'm now refurbishing an old anycubic kossel linear plus. This is going to challenge every bit of my knowledge to do this but if I hadn't learned so much from doing the other upgrades I'd still be where I started. Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work!!

I just got my first printer as a hand-me-down from a friend who upgrade. So now I have a CR-10S. I updated the official firmware to current and did the Capricorn upgrade when the original Bowden tube kept clogging up (the end was in rough shape). I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm really happy with the prints and really enjoying learning how to be good at it.

The silent board upgrade.... When my CR10 did its first print, my wife kept going around the house at 10pm at night looking out all the windows, upstairs, downstairs, north, south, east, and west. She kept complaining to me that some terrible neighbour is leaving their dog outside and the poor thing keeps crying trying to come back inside (it was January and cold.) She asked me "don't you hear that poor dog? I can't find it though, I looked everywhere I can't find him but he keeps crying." I told her "I don't hear anything, I don't hear any dog crying or howling." She then told me to listen "see... There it is, it's crying, it just cried." I then laughed and realized it was the printer in the basement. I told her "go look in the basement, the poor dog is stuck in our basement." 😂

Brand new to 3D printing as of last week. Got the 5 plus for printing large items. Can confirm that it will take some time to get it right, but now that I’ve got it dialed in, it works like a dream. Can also confirm that the stock tube and extruder are not the best. Had the white tube fail after about 20 hours of printing, (melted/backed out and clogged the nozzle). No issues since making those two upgrades. Great video.

I picked a sunlu S8...basically a decent cr10 clone for 159 bucks, and an anycubic i3 mega S for about the same. All in with the upgrades ive done im still cheaper then the regular cr10 s for both printers. BUT the sunlu does require upgrades to be a good machine its just a very solid base. And the anycubic is a great out of the box machine.

Great video! I agree with 90% of it. I bought an Ender 3 Pro last July knowing that it could do nice prints out of the box. There was also a great userbase and established upgrade path. Hasn't let me down so far. Today I'd buy a v2 and save printing all the common upgrades. I loved my glass print bed until I got a spring steel PEI sheet. There's nothing better for PLA. Another argument for upgrading is initial cost. 3d printers are modular by design. If you like and use it then you can always upgrade it and make it better. Biggest factor on which machine to buy is what print size you need.
@hukigid3 жыл бұрын
i turned my ender 5 plus to what you could call an ender 5 plus pro. added a flexi filament extruder, from macewan3d, silent board, noctua silent fans, p3d hercules .6 noz, cap tubing , leds, a camera and the last thing is being shipped wich is a flex build plate. after that I am done. the machine is silent, sturdy and reliable. I have my setting in cura dialed in to my preffered filament (hatchbox)and she prints like a dream, failed prints are rare.

I agree with the capricorn tube, however you MUST change the couplers too, because the stock ones are very low quality...And dont be cheap on filament, because capricorn tube as less toleranses than the stock one, so if you encounter a filament with no consistency on diameter capricorn+cheap filament will give trouble.

@@FranklyBuiltwhere I live I can't really find proper good filament, most of them work fine but some have really bad diameter and nightmarish densities that destroy your extruder. Been seeing your work in the user forums for a while now, and you do some awesome stuff. I do notice from your video though that you print at a relatively low speed, which with all your machines I guess works well for you. In regards to the 'ultrabase' The reason it is stock on the 5 plus and not the cr10max, is that it is heavy, on the 5 plus it make not difference, on a bed slinger, if you start to increase the speeds, this extra weight can cause problems. You are careful to say that this is what works for you at least, but for those printing at high speeds it many not be the case. No a criticism as you do explain it is what works well for you, just pointing out the potential issues for other uses cases of these machines Keep up the good work, I do enjoy seeing your awesome prints!

I agree I have an end at three because I didn’t know about the pro version or version two and I think my end at three and I’m morning about it I am upgrading the extruder gear to dual extruder gear and PVS tubing the blue tubing because my stock tubing for the filament clogged up in the tube so in the future I might get a C10s Version and angel my food panda in the 3-D printing community but thanks for letting me know about the upgrades I can do to make to my ender 3

hey, so I'm in Australia and for some reason, I can't get the Creality CR-10s Pro V2. The best I can get my hands on is the CR-10 Smart Pro. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two?

Hey there I got an ultra base bed, but nothing is sticking, it is completely level, what do I do.

How are you cleaning it? And is your nozzle close enough to the bed?

great video, to the point. I'm struggling to find a tutorial on converting a standard cr10 to an all in one, any useful links? Thanks

You've convinced me it's time to upgrade my basic CR10. I've ordered capricorn tubing, bed springs, aluminum extruder assembly, and a secondary z axis lead screw kit. My brother bought me a BLTouch this past christmas that is also waiting to be installed. I have one question though, where did you find the files for that all-in-one upgrade? I have been looking everywhere and found a couple similar, though designed for upgraded boards/screen. It looks like you re-used the stock screen so I'm very interested to see if it's an all stock parts conversion.

That’s awesome haha and the link is below in the description I think

How did it go for the all in one conversion? There seems to be no instructions for it.
@bw292 жыл бұрын
@@Aagggyy I haven't gotten around to attempting it for the same reason. I've done all but the secondary lead screw for upgrades then got busy. I still want to do it, but it's a little daunting without at least some basic instructions. Helluva jigsaw puzzle I guess.

@@bw29 Yeah, I see no instructions and I am confused asf since there’s no video on KZbin about it.

what's a good printer for out of the box ready that's smaller than the CR Series. I keep hearing that the Ender 3 takes a lot of work, I'm not trying to fix printers I just want to print a few things to connect to my clay sculptures
