Prey 2017 is one of those once in a decade games that comes along, shows everyone how its done, and and contently disappears into the shadows. No monetisation scheme, no forceful bs thats trying to make you keep playing it, just an honest game, that put the effort in to be the best, and it actually succeeded. Dishonored was great, *Prey was better.* Prey is Arkane's masterstroke, and seeing how they are probably going to be shut down and scattered to the wind soon, im glad they got this game out before that happened. This game makes the darkest timeline we're on more tolerable

No, you don't have to kill everything in your path in the last third of the game. When the massive drone attack stuff starts to happen, you can just start running to your destination. You don't have to make this a terrible slog by trying to destroy them all :) Also a little trivia: If you "recycle" the dead bodies around the station, less Typhons will appear when you re-enter the particular areas since the Weavers have nothing to reanimate.

Prey is really interesting. I originally didn't bought it and wasn't interested in it, because looking at walkthroughs it just doesn't look flashy and just boring. About two years ago i found dishonored and after that looking up about arkane studios and liking their games like dishonored 2 and dark messiah. So of course i bought Prey and now its one of my favourite games. I wonder if a lot of people had the same experience where they saw some random youtuber playthrough and just didn't find the game fun. Prey seems to have a problem where looking at people play it just looks boring but playing the game itself is really fun.

You basically explained why I LOVE this game. Everything about it. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm a sucker for games that have a shit load of areas to explore. And Prey has that. All the subtle intricacies (SPOILERS: Like the drop boxes under the fire alarms), is something I haven't seen in a game for a while, and Prey does it perfectly. Another thing - I noticed at the end of the video you got into the little room with Alex's safe in it by turning yourself into a cup. I couldn't help but think about what I did trying to get in there. I threw a recycler charge at the metal box to get it out of the way. Even then, you could always use Leverage. The amount of possible solutions to each and every encounter is so refreshing and it's why I keep coming back. I'm pretty confident that I can say Prey is my favorite game of all time and it's so criminally underrated, it's actually frustrating.

Warning: Spoilers Included I got into Prey within this last week. I took three days on it, plan on going back, and beat it. A ended my first playthrough with 25 hours put into into, some side quests left undone, and got what was what I believe to be one of the good endings. I played on normal, no survival modifiers, and my only crew kill was the chef who absolutely deserved it. I didn't bother not doing typhoon mods and quickly realized that hacking was the best thing ever and maxed it out. I think the only time I died during this was my fourth encounter with a nightmare. I was using the satellite to call them to me because I needed to scan the max amount and it was a really good way to get alien matter. I got arrogant because it was my second to last one and I was killing them fairly easily, got too close, and was one shot. Not two hours later whenever one showed up I actively hunted and killed it. I did a lot of exploration, though I won't even pretend I found it all, and had a lot of fun even though I felt like I was a deity meant to rule the station. It was to the point when I got the ultimatum I had the thought "Oh cool, I know where he is now." went down there, shocked all the robots to death, and stunned him without ever feeling tense. I even killed all the typhon that were attacking because they were vaguely in the way. I am upping the difficulty, adding survival mode options, and adding some personal restrictions. What I can't understand after all this is why people think it's hard? Maybe I will learn something after playing differently, but I will say one thing. I absolutely loved it. My only regret is that my playthrough wasn't blind. I was aware that the beginning area was a simulation and hated that I did. I rarely get a game off of recommendation alone so I watch to see what it was like and stopped right after I found that out. Yet, I still regret it so much.

Awesome video! I went into Prey with zero knowledge of what this game would be about, ended up falling in love with it. I played during the first global covid lockdown of 3 months. I had plenty of time during that period as i was fired from the company i was working in and had no means of finding a new job. Got to play alot of games in that time....Metro series, Ori series, Halo 3, Control, Doom, RE7 and RE2 remake, Titanfall 2, Vanquish, Evil Within 1&2, A plague tale and some more....all of these are brilliant games...but none of these games sucked me into their world like Prey did. What i would give to experience it all over again for the first time!

Learning tricks in prey is so great. First playthrough almost completely neglected the gloo gun, but gradually learned that you could use it to climb to all sorts of places, and more than just stunlocking enemies, those super powerful flying monsters? Gloo them in gravity and they'll get crushed under their own weight with fall damage. Toughest to easy in a flash. The nerf crossbow? I thought it was only good for recycling and a joke weapon. Que the realization you can access tons and tons of rooms by pressing unlock buttons or using terminals from a distance with it, without needing remote activation psionics. Stun gun? Barely used it in the beginning, now it's a mainstay to lock down tougher enemies (with way lower ammo consumption when upgraded). Typhon lures? Barely used them until I realized I could freely kill harder phantoms by baiting them into environmental hazards or recycler charges placed as mines. Doors blocked by high leverage junk? Use explosive canisters to displace them without needing upgrades. There's just so many effectiveness boosting tricks to learn!

Pro-Tip for anyone who couldn't get into Prey at first, play BioShock first. I bought Prey right when it came out and I could never get into it, I tried really hard and I kept returning every few months to see if it would change but for some reason things just never clicked, I got the furthest into it after buying it again for my PS4 bundled with Dishonored 2 but ended up putting the game down just after finding out you're on a space station. Recycle and repeat that cycle for another year or two until earlier this month when I played through the BioShock trilogy and now I love Prey. I forced myself to play for 2-3 hours...and it hit me. I never found so many details and secrets in any game. Maybe Elden Ring, but ER for me has to many things , is feels to huge. Prey is....the best immersive sim I have ever played. In terms of everything. It doesn't do something new, but it excels in what it's predecessors have been praised for. I think is the master game of details. When the Talos station shakes and crumbles, some fans in the ceiling begin to rotate....bcs of the tremors, and then slowly stop. If you look outside the station, from a window, things happen. Everywhere you look, something happens. Is like Thief, Deus ex and Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines had a kid together. GG for vid 🥂

I greatly disliked this game when I first got it in the budget bin for $8.99. I played it like a fps on medium and died so much I quickly lost patience for it. I slogged through it for 20 hours to beat it and really hated it. It was a time in my life I was anxious and inpatient. I returned to it a week ago, and played it slower and with more caution, the way I played my favorite game of all time, Deus Ex (original). Now, I'm having a great time. This game is so good it's not even right. I do wish I had a high end PC to up the graphics. They really look dated on Xbox one. Otherwise, the experience is otherworldly, no pun intended. I was so paranoid the first playthrough because I felt like reality had been completely disorienting. It's truly disturbing. A thing that helped was turning the music down. I love the ambient music, but when it gets super loud during encounters, I felt really annoyed as I have a very powerful sound system.
