I love Franklin Ajaye. I love the way he derives all his material from events and situations which either happened to him or which he observed firsthand.

My favorite line from Franklyn is from the movie "Carwash" "..and whatever you do-don't mention cocaine--unless you got some.." see the movie to see this man's timing and pacing...true genius!

I was just thinking about this guy and had to look him up. My favorite comedian in the 70's. I miss this fool!!! Love a comedian who can laugh at his own jokes!! Always had me cry laughing!

I remember an old 70's show called "Make Me Laugh" where the contestants tried to keep a straight face while comedians came up and tried to make them laugh. I remember one episode when Franklyn was on the show. A female contestant was sitting there determined not to laugh...Franklyn strolls up..looks her in the eye and said, "You kinda shy aren't you?" And she just busted out laughing and he strolled back to his seat. So cool. ;~)

I feel like he should have had more roles. He is hilarious!! I was just watching him in bridesmaids the movie from 2011. The few parts he had was hilarious. I wish he was in more scenes. Car wash is definitely one of my favorite movies.

I used to love this guy in the 80s. He did this really funny Jamaican bobsled team joke. Not to mention the one he did about the Peoples Court.

@@restcure I was 20 that summer. I think the back of my head is visible when the camera is panning from the back of the room. It was a pretty small venue, maybe a couple hundred people.

Well, he never took the cellophane off the record, did he?
@kcl43644 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure he does. It's a mistake to take things he says in his routine as representing what he actually thinks. His stand up self is a character.
