In Argentina we have another culture. Here saying black is not frowned upon because we do not have the racial problem that exists in North America. Here the nickname negrito or negro is affectionately, I am of Italian and Argentine descent, my skin color is almost white, you can see me profile picture, however my parents call me "negrita" in an affectionate way. It is normal for someone's nickname to be black/negro. We have few African American people. Since we were a Spanish colony and most of us descend from Italy, Spain, Germany, etc. Our native peoples mixed with Europeans. If it is discriminatory to say "shitty black/negro de mierda" that refers to a low-income person, thieves, etc.

Wait sorry, it is actually derogatory but in a different way. He calls himself “negro catinga”(an insult in Argentinian schools that means bad smelling dark skin person) in one of his songs and says “now the negro catinga sings to you” to make people realize that the person who they bullied in school for being poor and from the ghetto (and having a bit darker skin) is succeeding. It is not an insult to black community but to poor people with darker skin in Argentina. Argentinians are surprised always when they hear Milo j calling himself that way, because it is a big insult in Argentina, but I’m also surprised that he is showing the reality he lived and how things actually work in society even nowadays. I like that he was brave to expose the racist comments that are being used without mincing words by CHILDREN 😢. Sorry for saying this, reality is very cruel, but I wanted to try to explain it in English so that there is no misinformation❤. I hope you can understand my bad English.

Milo J is not racist, he says "negros" or "blacks" in English, referring to people from the neighborhood, in Argentina they are not called black because of their skin color, it is usually an adjective for people who steal, but no It has nothing to do with any racial aspect, It is also often used in an affectionate way, such as "que onda negro" which is like saying "whats up homie" or similar forms among friends, it is difficult to explain how it is used in Argentina.

los comentarios se enriedan mucho para explicar esto: las personas de barrio bajo(la mitad de Argentinos y el caso de Milo J) nos sentimos identificados con la palabra Negro, y decirlo entre personas de barrio es como decir: amigo, compañero, hermano.

I would like to clarify about the word "black" in Argentina. Here that word is not usually used in a racist way, especially when it is a song of the urban genre, in Argentina it has origins with classism. When Milo talks about "los negros" (the blacks), he talks about the people in the hood, about him or his people, In fact, the majority of Argentine urban artists are considered "negros", trueno, tiago pzk, milo j, duki, they all come from the hood. I would also like to clarify some bars: 12:05 "The black is in white". [The black] is Milo J, he refers to himself as this because of his origins in the hood. [Is in white] be in white It is being in a job where the money is registered, here in Argentina there are 2 types of work, the blank job which is when a company has you under contract or when the money you generate contributes to the government, Black work is when they hire you but you are not registered and you don't pay certain taxes for that reason, people in the hood usually work like this (This type of work does not cover the minimum in most cases, both in money, security, etc.) 12:23 "In the neighborhood the blacks don't make signs with their hands but they steal if they want to eat on Friday". This phrase refers to the fact that in the hood you will not see gangs but you will find someone stealing to get high on the weekends. (This phrase can have different interpretations, the other side of the phrase would be that because of low income from work, one is forced to steal to eat).

When hes talking about a "black" hes referring to himself. "negro" in argentina, besides black people, is how you call someone who's from the hood, sometimes even if they're not actually dark skinned. It can, of course, have negative connotations in some situations because racism exists everywhere, but mostly its used as a friendly way of calling a friend, a brother, a homie, someone that knows and understands your struggles because theyve been through the same in the hood, "mis negros"="my homies" "my people". Milo considers himself a "negro", and he often makes references about it on his songs, when he references "the blacks" hes usually talking about either hood people or just himself and his homies.

Regarding when Milo talks about black people, he is not talking about dark-skinned people, saying the word "black" refers to a brother or someone very close to you in the hood, since there are many Latin people of dark skin in his neighborhood in Argentina, that word is used, I don't know if I explained it correctly, I'm Latino too, but I promise you he doesn't say it with any intention of hate or being racist or anything like that

Those subtitles are very confusing. Even the part that says "rose rank, the black is white" may sounds pretty racist too. That part is referring to unregistered employment or as we call it "trabajo en negro" In short he is saying that "the black is in white" which translates as an analogy to someone who was working illegally and is now "hired" (obviously not literal).

In Argentina the word "negro" ("black") does not refer to your skin color or your ethnicity, but to your social class. People who live marginalized in very poor neighborhoods, with certain types of clothing (especially sports) are called that, they began to be called “blacks.” There is a stigma that people from that social class who dress like that are criminals, this is based on people who ride motorcycles and commit robberies, sell drugs, etc. and in general they have that appearance, although they are also often called black, whether they are criminals or not, just because of where they live. It has nothing to do with skin color but I know that calling them “black” derogatorily can be seen as racist, but in itself it is a classist adjective. There came a time when people from those social classes appropriated that insult and began to call each other black, as a way of saying “hey brother.” Milo in the video says "in the neighborhood the blacks (the poor) don't make signs with their hands but they steal if they want to eat on Friday" he is describing the reality of his neighborhood. To give you an example, the artist "L-Gante", the artist "La Joaqui", "Callejero Fino" and "Milo J" fulfill the stereotype of black people: people from the neighborhood, with a certain type of clothing, with a certain type of musical tastes (the rkt and the black cumbia (popular cumbia of the neighborhoods)". I don't know if I explained myself well hahaha but I hope it is clearer that the word black is used to describe social class, not ethnic origin or color of skin, greetings

white is black refers to the fact that in Argentina working in white refers to doing it legally in front of the state and paying taxes which takes a lot of money from you, when working in black you do not pay taxes to the state and it is illegal but you charge more money apart from the fact that the connotation black is not said referring to the color of the person but rather to where they come from, like someone with little purchasing power who has to resort to getting money in a not so legal way, they are people from the neighborhood, and when they say yes He has to steal to eat on a Friday but they don't make any signs to say that it is not fake, it is not smoke, it is a real necessity, since from Latin America the Latin neighborhood is not the same as the Yankee neighborhood that is why it is seen as "fake" without disrespect

It's kinda funny and kinda frustrating when North Americans try to decide who's black enough based on skin tone, you know? Down here in places like Argentina, we've got a whole crazy mix of , Native tribes, European folks and a bit of African immigrants, so most of us are mixed. Milo, with his darker skin, gets seen as black in Argentina. He sings about his struggles with race and growing up poor. I guess the rest of the world doesn't really follow North America's rules on this stuff.

He calls himself "negro catinga" (an insult in Argentinian schools that means bad smelling dark skin person) in one of his songs and says "now the negro catinga sings to you" to make people realize that the person who they bullied in school for being poor and from the ghetto is succeeding.
