Best boot review I've seen so far. Its nice to see and know that you actually take care of your boots. Not to offend anyone, but some guys like their boots to look all beat up. Im not saying folks don't know or think this, but for a pair of boots that costs this much, it is wise to maintain cleanliness and proper care insuring years and years of service. After all, it is your hard earned money you are spending on these. And lastly although you're a Frank's guy and im a Nick's guy, I still love this video, thank you brother.

Thanks again for good amazing reviews thanks for helping other people to making a good choice.

I've got a pair of Nicks Roberts (bought third hand) and a pair of Builder Pros custom fit. I love both, they are by far the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned. I had a great experience with Nicks, aside from the long wait, and my Builder Pros could not possibly fit better. I have had my eye on Franks Wilshires for a nicer casual/dress boot.

Nice boots I just sent my try on boots to franks boots. I am getting the same linemen boots. I have a question, are yours steel toe or composite toe? Also on nicks video they said that these boots aren't for walking all day being that the heals are a big mass, is that true? Like did you get any rub on the toes if you have safety toes? I think Franks linemen boots look better than Nick's. I'm thinking to get a toe cap over the composite.

How much different was your size in these compared to off the shelf boot? I wear a 10.5 b in red wing and I did the fit sheet and sent it in to Frank's for the type 1 commander and Jr said after looking at the sheet I'm a 9.5c . I told him I'm a little nervous about being a whole size different but he said he's confident in the size. I tried a pair of white's in a 9.5c in a round toe parker rancher boot and they were to short. So I called and talked to Frank I think and he said he was sure they were still right about me needing a 9.5c. I guess I will see in a few more weeks. These guys are pros so I'm sure they are right lol
@keithjohnson51483 жыл бұрын
The sizing for custom boots are completely different, me for example I wear a 11.5 d off the shelf boot and with my franks they put me in a 10EE And my first thought was well them ain’t going to fit.but low and behold all the pairs I have now fit amazing.so I wouldn’t stress it to much

You mentioned people call the edge of the false tongue eyelashes but they don't understand the purpose for it. Is there a purpose for the pointy cut edge? I thought it was just for looks.
@ndfproductionsofficial45732 жыл бұрын
The false tongue protects the actual tongue from the laces wearing them out. That’s why you can replace the false when after it totally wears out. As for the pointy parts I think it’s just a classic style for the false tongues.

How do you find the tall heel for driving trucks? I used to wear cowboy boots and I found that heel a bit annoying on some gas pedals on trucks. Ie it was hard to pivot your foot low enough on that tall block heel to push the pedal down. I am trying to talk myself into the tall heel, but I worry about that. I hope that question makes sense?
@keithjohnson51484 жыл бұрын
I personally don’t see any issues at all,I’m also use to the tall heel wich might be the reason why.but I can say the high arch support and tall heel makes the boot much more comfortable on my back and feet.but far as driving I don’t see any issues. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

What's up from Clermont! Do you wear the regular boot height darn tough socks or do you have to buy the over the calf height socks? I like darn tough socks too but I wondered if their boot height socks would be tall enough that they don't fall inside the boots?
@keithjohnson51484 жыл бұрын
What’s up Chris!!!! I do wear the over the calf’s socks mostly.but the crew socks are also tall enough for the 10” boots.once laced I fold the crew socks over the boot.if not mid-day they will fall into the boot. So either will work also I personally like the lightweight socks especially during summer

Hey Paul, I just started wearing them for as long as possible 1-4 hours each day while I wasn’t working, then after three or four days I was able to wear all day with no major concerns. Frank and Junior are great to work with. I'm just the opposite of you. I have very skinny calves, long narrow skinny feet, and one slightly larger than the other. But for once in my life, and I'm toward the far end, I wanted a pair of boots that fit me. Off-the-shelf boots were like barges with my foot slopping around, then when laced the gap in the upper closes completely, but loose around my calf. Break-in was a challenge, but once over that period, really really nice. I have Type 2 Commander, black, rough out lowers. Thanks for sharing!

@R Taylor - thanks for posting this comment! Sounds like you and I have the exact same foot and calf/ankle shape. I have never owned a pair of off the shelf boots where the laces didn’t pull completely together unless I stuffed a thick after market insole in them and that still didn’t solve the problem around my ankle and calf. I even had this problem with the pair of B width try-on boots Nicks sent me after supposedly selecting the size based on evaluating the fit sheet I sent in. I’m for sure going to give Frank’s a closer look, sounds like they’re a bit more skilled and nailing the fit for people who struggle to get a standard sized boot to work for them.

I’m really close to trying Frank’s. I have Nick’s and they fit great, and both Frank’s and Nick’s seem to be very similar in quality and build. Were you just fed up with Nick’s somehow? I have since ordered 2 more pair from Nicks and it’s been so long, longer than my first pair, which was 12 weeks bc of the fit process. But I’m at 13 & 16 weeks on the next orders and they already have my measurements. Not sure what’s taking so long??
@keithjohnson51484 жыл бұрын
Yea that’s way to long especially when there website site says 4-6 weeks once your already measured.and yea just the overall experience dealing with franks was much better experience they were super helpful with all my dumb questions and gave me there personal recommendations.Plus when going back and forth via email with nicks they even mentioned that maybe I should just go stick with with franks caused they got the fit right the first time.and that Honestly is why I got a refund of both pairs of nicks and switched to franks as that left a bad taste in my mouth that they kinda Didn’t want to make sure the fit was perfect. But let me be honest both companies build amazing boots.but I think the customer service is much better at franks

I am amazed people review products without having the knowledge what a boot is. How it is made. It is a personal comment and nothing. First of all a boot that does not have lining is not high quality. I know it has been accepted way of making but it is wrong. The best boots are still made in europe be it fancy or work boots All those who are doing this you are cheating your customers. Learn the trade the greater amount of nails does not make the boot. Strong boot can be made and it can weigh less
