This road stretch reminds me that ''the Gotthard Tunnel stress has finally gone''. I think in Switzerland even motorways are terraces to admire the alpine landscape or the green hills with the typical steep roof houses! Love it!

Yeah! European roads told me that in the summer peak, the waiting lines before the Gotthard tunnel can be as long as 3 or 4 hours! The Twin-tubes of the Seelisberg tunnel is a welcome change :) I also like their ''Chalet style'' architecture. So cute 👍

@@FreewayFranks Yep, waiting Lines can be very long… These queues, in periods of heavy summer traffic, are formed due to a traffic light at the tunnel entrances (portals), installed due to the high number of vehicles and a single lane available for direction of travel, which would cause slowdowns inside the tunnel, increasing danger (in fact, the traffic light system was added in the early 2000s, following a major accident along the tunnel…)

It's a freeway tunnel that links Beckenried to Seedorf, running under the mountains for 9.2 km and is located southeast of Lake Lucerne. It was open on December 12, 1980.

lol we are use to very long right lines in North America...it's the same in Québec! I personally prefer when my roads have alot of curves...I think it makes a more pleasant drive and it keeps me concentrated on the road! Thanks for watching!

There are no tolls in Switzerland :) Each drivers pay an annual fare and they hang on a sticker on their windshield! Thanks for watching!

Ils sont vraiment habitués à concevoir des tunnels en Europe alors que même aux États-Unis, tu remarquera qu'on préfère souvent couper une montagne en deux plutôt que de creuser un tunnel! Je suis d'accord avec toi que l'entretien de nos tunnels laisse toutefois à désirer! Ceci dit, les tunnels Ville-Marie et Lafontaine vont faire l'objet de rénovations majeures dans les prochaines années, ce qui est une bonne nouvelle! 👍
