So this is a serious question for anyone who knows: why _isn't_ Frank just scoring video games nonstop? This thing he did in less than 20 minutes would be maybe the best video game music I've ever heard, and he's got 100 other ones he's already made that are this good _(or nearly so; this is impressively excellent)._ He knows enough about music to evoke whatever emotion is called for in the game. He can blast out new epicness pretty much on cue. Why stream? Why not be the John Williams of video gaming?
@OnlyCloud79 ай бұрын
Perhaps he's better on the fly than with arrangements? Looping kinda corners him into accepting the first thought, melody, riff etc. Scoring compositions takes perfecting and perhaps franks way of playing is better suited for live performances like this? Im merely speculating but it seems he's having fun with his "job".
@boop_the_snoot__9 ай бұрын
Because he enjoys streaming and content creation. He had said before on his streams he doesn’t want to be just composing music; he enjoys the interaction he gets on streams and ome TV/Omegle. And he wouldn’t have time to stream, Omegle, plus compose non stop. Plus, to compose, he would revise and perfect it which would take time. I strongly doubt he would release his twitch compositions as they are.
@HarveyHirdHarmonics9 ай бұрын
According to IMDB he wrote some music for a game called Shujinkou. That game sadly seems to be in development limbo though.

@@boop_the_snoot__ yeah that seems to be it bro. Spot on.
@BillyTheHumanBeing9 ай бұрын
@@boop_the_snoot__ Could he perhaps be recording his streams into a DAW in real-time? That way, he could have a raw working file that another audio engineer could utilize if anything he made live ends up being requested for use in a game title or something of the like. I'm only spitballing, but to me, this amazing "hobby" has the potential to be the catalyst to a genius-level business model.

I'm always just so impressed with his ability to listen to a new song, then play it by ear - sometimes with his own interpretive slant on it. But then sometimes he'll do one of his own compositions (Levitate, etc.), and I'm even more amazed by his talent. But this thing here... It's a whole new level of on-the-spot improvisational creativity. Just so, so good!

I was curious when he started off fairly simply, but when he brought in the low end, i was hooked and stayed for the finish. Incredible. I agree with everyone else asking why Frank isn't writing more pieces for cinematics. Games, Movies, whatever.

A vessel of the stars bound for a singular destination never to be; filled with the lives of but a few it now glides through the space between planets in one last futile attempt to see its journey to the end. One last desperate attempt to find home, a graceful and forlorn final flight marred by disrepair as it nears its true end. A requiem no one will ever live to remember.

"Car keys, for sure". Great comment, in the chat. Watching Frank makes me totally believe that Mozart could write insane music without corrections, or that Beethoven could conceive entire symphonies in his head, after he was deaf. I had thought those stories a to be a bit of 'over the top mythology', before. No longer. Until Frank, I had never witnessed this sort of thing, before. It also demonstrates why Bach was able to be so ridiculously prolific. And Frank, as he would quickly and compassionately admit (pretty sure, having watched him over the years), stands on all of their shoulders, and many more. This piece is heavily influenced by classical music. I recognized that even before the addition of the choir. At that point it was almost a compliment to the Star Wars piece of similar sonic, etc. makeup. That was a piece that John Williams plagiarized, almost note for note, from a classical (In the general categorical sense, not literally, I don't think) piece which I don't remember the name of. If you hear them played concurrently, it is ridiculous...if not literally note for note, it might as well be. And the flavor, orchestration, choir style and sound, everything, is exactly the same. This would be fine if John acknowledged that, but as far as I know, he did not. That is unethical, and lame as hell. The more I saw of such shenanigans of his, the less impressed I was. Inspired by, like this piece, is fine, lifted without acknowledgement is not.
