Hello!!! Thank you very much for the reaction! For respect and reflection. I wish these things did not happen, but it is more comfortable for many, to forget or not see them. Victor was killed so he wouldn't sing, he was tortured, his tongue cut out and his hands broken, but in the end his singing has only gotten stronger. His cellmates who managed to survive rescued his last poem, at the cost of his own life. A hug of Chile😍😍😘🇨🇱❤️

All these dictatorships (Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Bolívia, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, and others) were heavily influenced by the US government during the Cold War to maintain control over the Latin American countries. It was a strategy to weaken the leftist movements in these countries by putting in power conservative military dictatorships that would be potential allies to the US. Unfortunately, till today, Latin America continues to suffer from this kind of restrains made by the US government because they don't want to lose political and economical control over the continent.

To answer the question you made at the end of the video... Victor Jara is also known and remembered in Mexico. His stance during his life was full of coherence and honesty, further than his political convictions, I believe he told the truth of the majority of Latinamerican people. He was such a nuisance to bad people in power that they even cut his hands and tongue as a symbol. It didn't work out as they intended is death inspired and fueled many other artists in Latinamerica who came before and after him and who also sing the reality of many. To name some of the artists who made us remember Victor Jara in Mexico are: Oscar Chavez Leon Chavez Texeiro Guadalupe Trigo Eugenia León Francisco Barrios And the list goes on...

Frank, you should try “plegaria a un Labrador “ that has a very strong message to the Chilean people. I am Chilean and I heard histories that Victor when he was under a rest in the Chilean National Stadium before he was brutally murdered they broke his hands as a symbol to him never play his guitar. There are such a people that are so exceptional that even if they try to silence his voice his legacy remains until today.

Premonition is the word that best reflects what happened to this song after the murder of this tremendous chilean singer and songwriter. It's as if Victor Jara (sound like Hara in english) had foreseen what was going to happen to him and then wanted to leave his testament on the meaning of singing committed to the cause of the world 's poorest. Great reaction friend!!! 👏👏👏

Víctor Jara, "Estadio Chile" last Poem (translated from Spanish) There are five thousand of us here in this small part of the city. We are five thousand. I wonder how many we are in all in the cities and in the whole country? ... How hard it is to sing when I must sing of horror. Horror which I am living, horror which I am dying. To see myself among so much and so many moments of infinity in which silence and screams are the end of my song. Víctor Jara, "Estadio Chile" (translated from Spanish)

After days of beatings they smashed his hands with rifles. "Play the guitar now", they said. Instead, he composed a song and sang it in the torture chamber. They then took him off against a wall and pulled the uzi's triggers. They tought killing him they'd silence him, but he is inmortal. His voice is alive forever, though. He will be always remembered.
