Barry Harris talked about him a lot, but it still took me years to actually check him out. Don’t know why. I would have thought Barry’s recommendations alone would have generated more interest, not to mention the recognition he must have had in the Netherlands. He’s done a terrific solo piano album too, also available on KZbin.

@@rorymcinroy8022 I had the fortune to study with Frans in the late '90s. He is a great inspiration and was such a beautiful person. Frans, a veteran Duch bebop pianist, helped to build the first jazz schools in Holland and he also organized famous Barry's workshops in the Hague.
