2 time winner of the Ballon D'oro playing as a Libero. Could play in the defense and in midfield. Was one of the greatest leaders this sport has ever seen. Won absolutely everything you could wish for (World Cup, 3 times Champions League winner, in a row by the way, Euro Cup, etc). And also had a good career as a manager, leading the german squad to winning the 1990 World Cup. He did it playing with grace and style that nobody else could recreate. Rest in peace, to the greatest german football player of all time, Franz Anton Albert Beckenbauer, The Kaiser!

Not a fan because of his later life as an official and media figure with many pathetic interviews and statements but his movements to shield the ball are insanely effective and i always liked his elegance. Somewhat like Platini a marvelous player (and coach) with a questionable career after that.

Losing to a once-in-a-lifetime dutch team in the Euro 1988 (that van Basten goal against Kohler is INSANE!!) is another achievement of his. He did good as a manager.
