The fact that this had a team of 8 tells us a lot about the advancement of technology. Nowadays, 1 person could do this in a week. You must’ve had a beast of a computer to render this entire thing.

Not true. We had super fast rendering using a supercomputer with almost 4000 cores. It took about 20 minutes to render the video and about 8 hours to file transfer all the renders. The process of doing this wasn't about this one video, we produced an entire 30 minute show in 4 weeks with 8 people. That's asset building, animation, mocap, lighting rendering, compositing, sending versions to teh client MTV and getting approvals. Technology would improve its quality and we could fix mistakes, but overall it would still take about the same time.
