Jorge Bolet was a fabulous pianist, his version of Chopin's Ballades are quite exceptional

Extraordinary! However, the last one is my definite favourite - the control Bolet has on the melody is exquisite... Notice: ‘The notes with stems pointing downwards are to be played with the left, and those with stems pointing upwards, with the right hand.’.

SOSPIRO : The score does not render the fact that the arpeggio must be divided between he two hands, the left had playing the melody over the right hand (at least at the beginning). Some editions present this music on three staves, which is easier to work this piece. The basic harmonic modulations or access to remote régions is quite interesting and the arpeggios envelop them i a poetic vibrating frame. This piece - and its tone Db - seem to prefigure Dabussy (see "Reflets dans l'eau").
