Not just the interpretation here. Lang Lang played this with passion for the suitable occasion here for Japan and earthquake victims and their families. Great choice!

This is my very favourite version of this piece. Beautifully controlled and full of emotion. I love this unhurried thoughtful interpretation.

I listened to this piece over and over again. I completely understand what you are saying. Here, time allows the emotions to open up gently, in turn they open up a dimension of time that is beyond the din of our existence. Lang Lang can demonstrate this better than any artist I have encountered.

タイトルにFor the people of Japan

Perfect piece for him. You can’t go over the top emotionally with this piece. There’s just no upper limit. It’s not physically possible.
郎朗,谢谢您的爱心 I love this piece, Widmung, both as a Lied by Schumann and as a piano version by Liszt. I have listened to it so many times, sung and played by quite a few artists. Today I reached here, Lang Lang's Widmung, which was unique and touched me to the heart. Soon I recognized the date of performance, April 28 in 2011. It was on March 11, 2011 that the northern part of Japan, called Tohoku, was hit by a tremendous earthquake and the devastating tsunami. Back in 1995, the 2nd International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians took place in Sendai, a beautiful city in Tohoku. I was among the audience and witnessed a thirteen-year-old boy Lang Lang won the first prize in the piano part. Listening to his Widmung , it is apparent that he felt the pain of the people of Japan as his " mein Schmerz." Thank you so much, Lang Lang. This Widmung is like a textile woven with consolation and hope.
Your exquisite playing reminds of my son who played this piece with such love and passion. Thank you!

“You are an artist, not a puppet controlled by a dictator. You might have experienced the breath of freedom before I did. But you are playing blind to the ugliness in China. It might be none of your business, since you haven’t experienced the unfairness yourself, you haven’t suffered much yourself. But you are a beneficiary of the current system. The regime will solve your problems, but can you guarantee it will solve the problems of your sons and grandsons?”

The 22nd anniversary of the June 4 massacre is approaching. Please play the song ‘Candle In The Wind’ for the innocent students, workers and citizens who were killed. If you can do it, it will be reported by the international media. You will become China’s hero. Do you dare?
