in my very humble opinion, as long as Martha plays Robert Schumann's music, he is NOT dead. His music lives through her, and it goes right into my soul!

Martha's performance is great, needless to say, but I cannot help but see a female violinist with glasses in the back. I can tell that she's such a nice person. 🙂

She must have made a self-deprecating face at the first violinist after that simple clunker. Violinist couldn't help but smile. What a memorable moment for her. Martha was probably more shocked than anyone. What a wonderful person and pianist.

Martha Argerich in her 80th year. - I have watched this video over the years since the performance and could not stop myself any longer from commenting. I have studied Classical Music since the 1960s and still present a weekly Classical Music Programme on FM Radio in Australia. First may I say; any one who criticises this lady; just go away. To the top professional musicians; she like Liszt is a Grandmaster of Piano - Level 10 in my opinion; one in every 100 years. Look at the sheer awe and stunned exhilaration of orchestra members, particularly lead violinists crying; - they knew they were in the company of genius; Yes like Liszt - Martha is a Grandmaster of Piano. Even Schumann and Liszt would have been overwhelmed and - Oh - she does not need sheet music in front of her. I challenge anyone; who says this woman is not the world's greatest living pianist - whether MALE or FEMALE - The lead violinists cannot stop the tears raining down their faces as they defers to Genius.

0:44 and 1:01 and elsewhere, hammers so tired can't even hit the only three strings they have been told to! Common with older hammers. But how exciting and above all of it she is. Music!

The problem is with the una corda function. Sometimes, it shifts the keyboard and hammers too far and so the hammer hits two different notes.

@maumoya70755 жыл бұрын
