Well said, Pastor Sullivan. I myself prefer the NKJV & KJV. If someone else wants to read NA based translation, I won't hold them at fault, as long as they are reading their Bible. A former coworker of my with a bit of developmental disabilities once told me how he struggled trying to read the Bible. He told me he tried many transactions but always struggled. I lent him my AAT Beck Bible. He absolutely loved it and could understand it. So I bought him his own copy. I check in on him from time to time, and I always ask him if he's still reading his Bible, and he tells me yes he is. Merry Christmas Pastor

Excellent! How important that we have Faith in the sufficient and reliable text of Holy Scripture that God has graciously preserved for us! Pastor do you know when the ending of Mark, chapter 16, is first cited by a church father? That would be an interesting study.

Good video! My issue with the Nestle Alland based English translations are the removal of verses. I agree that the manuscripts can be used side by side, and the EHV does that in that translation (I'm not WELS, so I'm a simp for it, I just agree that it's a good translation).

The Nestle Aland has the Johannine Comma.

No, it doesn't. It cuts off in the middle of v. 7 and chops off the first half of v. 8.

@@paulrydecki3528 I am looking at my copy of the New Testament in Greek and it is there.

@@nolanmattson4313 I'm sorry, but you're not looking at the Nestle Aland, then. The N-A text reads: "7 ὅτι τρεῖς εἰσιν οἱ μαρτυροῦντες⸂,* 8 τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸ αἷμα, καὶ οἱ τρεῖς εἰς τὸ ἕν εἰσιν⸃."

@@nolanmattson4313 It's a hallmark of the N-A that they reject the Johannine Comma. They're famous for it, in fact. That's why it's not found in any of the translations based on the N-A, like the ESV, NIV, etc.

@@nolanmattson4313 lol KZbin didn't like my comment quoting from the N-A. I'll try it again. "7 ὅτι τρεῖς εἰσιν οἱ μαρτυροῦντες⸂,* 8 τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸ αἷμα, καὶ οἱ τρεῖς εἰς τὸ ἕν εἰσιν⸃."

See, I don’t get worked up over this, in part because Hort and Wescott have been wrongfully slandered by some overzealous TR advocates. I don’t see anything in the Nestle-Alland text suggesting it to be shunned. Moreover the Christology in the Nestle-Alland text for the book of Jude is actually stronger than it is in the TR. Heck, even the original King James translators did not seem to be slavishly devoted to the TR, as their allowance for variant readings and translations in the margin notes of the original 1611 KJT indicate.
