My mother has Alzheimer’s. I showed her this video because of an incident that happened a few years ago before she was diagnosed. Here’s how the incident went. She was at my house and my husband asked her if she wanted a glass of wine. She said, “Sure, what year is it!” He held the box up and told her, “Well, it expires in 2018!” Of course we all cracked up! That was a box of Franzia Sweet Red! So back to your video. She was laughing so hard watching you! She still has her sense of humor, but she can’t remember anything! Then abruptly, she stopped and asked me if I remembered the incident I told you about above. I told her that I did, and we laughed some more! Thank you for sparking such a fun memory for us all. I have told all my friends about you, most have subscribed. Keep up the good work Prescott! You never know how you are going to affect others in such a positive way. I know it is all just fun and games, but we all need that in the world. Back around '98-'00, not sure which year, there was a really good year for a few wine makers. Must have been some bumper crops, because they had a lot of grapes left over after making as much wine as their label was licensed to make. What did they do with the extra? Made wine and sold it under a one-off label, of course. We found it at a local liquor store for $5/bottle. Don't remember if the label said who made it. The label was brown. The exact shade of brown of a brown paper bag. The wine name was in all capital block letters: "Cheap White Wine". They also made a "Cheap Red Wine". There was a case of each available in a certain room at the World Science Fiction Convention that year, when 20 or so friends were meeting off-line for the first time. (We all met on a science fiction website.)

There was a lot of strategy because you had people htat were good drinkers and some were good runners. Each member drinks their portion and runs their portion and hands the box off to the next person.

Franzia has been a part of my life for more than half a decade now. In college we used to play slap the bag, until we read a story about how a frat at another college had a herpes outbreak while playing it, so there was a semi-official moratorium on slap the bag. After college with few prospects, I got a job as a server at a relatively nice upper middle tier restaurant chain and learned that the “Cabernet reduction” we used for our steaks was in fact made with Franzia, and you know what? It’s a fucking good steak sauce.

Presented differently, this channel's content could be absurdly classist and judgmental of people who genuinely consume and enjoy these drinks.
