Von Hassan - Sometimes thrust reversers are deferred for maintenance. I fly the CRJ-200 for a regional airline, and I’ve flown a few aircraft with a thrust reverser deferred.

I’m Out the reverse thrust is used not to slow the aircraft, but to cool the brakes and prevent them from overheating. They only really do anything about stopping distance in wet conditions. Also, Air Transat (the airline in this case) usually has around one hour turnarounds (the time from landing to taking off again) which is plenty of time for the brakes to cool and for maintenance.

Same here, from the time I was a little girl at the age probably 8 or 9 my first flight on KLM from SA to Amsterdam I was so excited! I was traveling with the guidance of a flight attendant and never had any fear. I have always loved airplanes, think it is something amazing, that was ever created!
