The KLM 747-406 at 00:43 performs one smooth touchdown! The flare is so mild, the wheels gently kiss the concrete… awesome. Excellent acceleration by Virgin’s aircraft with real short take-off run at 8:57

On the other hand, you're lucky to be so young :-) My first 747 flight was from Sydney to Nadi, Fiji in 1973 on a 'Classic' QANTAS 747-238B. My beloved Grandad, born in 1912, paid for a holiday for our whole family. I can't imagine what he thought as that enormous machine roared down the runway, rotating into the night sky with all the new sensations of being in flight! When we stepped off the 747 in Nadi, even at 3:00 am, the blast of tropical heat and humidity really made me feel we'd been transported to another world :-) which is what the 747 did so well for first-time flyers like us.

747s were a beauty. It was always a pleasure to fly in them, always on the 2nd level. Too bad they have been phased out. Sad to see them go. I’m sorry, but those Airbus 380 just don’t have the beauty and the legacy., they’re hideous things.

Whow, what an impressive compilation. The only 2 aircraft who come close to this beauty are the MD-11 and (for me fortunately a new one in the sky) the 787. Thanks for this impressive video! I flew a KLM 747 last april to Toronto. I'm affraid it has been the last time :(

The 747 is and always will be the queen. Glad to see they're still flying with so many airlines still but they're all being phased out with a lot of carriers. There are only 24 indigenous 747's here in the US now. All set to leave by the end of this year and be replaced by vile Airbus's.

In my life I've SEEN only two 747 and I think I saw a old 747 and it was a Lufthansa airlines 747. Write as I'm typing this I saw a newer 747. And the biggest plane I've ever flown on was a 737 and ive flown on A319 I think
