Fraser Island Madness, East to west (MISSON FAILED)

We are 2 nights into our 7 night Fraser island lap (this is part 2) we had huge plans for a day exploring and 4x4ing on Fraser Island but we failed our mission, good thing it’s the world’s largest sand island with still so much to see, explore and experience we adjusted our plans and had the best time swimming at champagne pools, headed west to explore Wathumba and find ourselves at the most incredibly beautiful part of Fraser camping on an sand spit, Fraser didn’t disappoint with a cracker sunset.

Guys, you are to be praised for showing viewers how to do the right thing. I've not seen anyone show us the dump point provisions & transfer station provisions on K'gari previously. Well, lets face it, that's not the glamourous side of a vlog, is it? There are times the whales are really close to the drop off behind champagne pools. When I say close, I mean close, gives you the total prospective of their actual size. I've been fortunate enough to watch a whale birth from Eli Camp. Couldn't understand the whales behaviour untill it was rolled on its back with a baby whale protruding from it. Then it all made sense. Guessing a baby whale (calf) needs to be able to take its first breathe as air, not water hah. Once completed the unusual behaviour concluded and nothing more to be seen. Guessing that was a special event, can't say I've met anyone that can say the saw a whale birth. K'gari is sooo special, certainly spoils us each visit. You won't be able to find a "Fraser Island" sticker now, as it's reverted to "K'gari", surely there are K'gari stickers available, should have tried Cathedral Beach, it's about the best supplier of all things on the Island. To be honest we were surprised to see bins, dump points and so many cars/people just because it doesn’t get showed. What an incredible special experience for you, we have added it to our bucket list but it could be impossible to tick off, thanks for sharing it with us.

Wow! 4WD chaos. Found your solitude in the middle of the ocean at low tide … beautiful. Pools looked so fun and you captured it perfectly. And rainforest turtles … wow!

Definitely looked like a car yard. Couldn’t believe how busy and crazy it was. The west side was our favourite absolutely stunning! I agree never watch on an empty stomach especially when crispy bacon is involved 😂😂. That’s for watching and your support 😀👍🤙🤙🤙

Feed the spider some Spray and don't feed dingoes. Spiders galore on that island, go to central station camp, spiders holes every 6 feet or less even. I don't camp at Central station, and you shouldn't either. Sorry, I spray them instantly. Dingos have never bothered us, they walk into camp, sniff and sus out every structure & anything else, smell the air, no food, walk off. Secret, store all foods that emit an odour in your fridge, secured in you vehicle. Store all clothing in your car as clothes emit an odour that attracts also. Place all garbage inside a container stored up high. As we attend regularly, our vehicle is fully set up around camping on K'gari, it's our only form of storage & we no longer tent it, roof top camping only now, so all our goodies are in the car the whole time. Our cooking is on rear slide out kitchen, wash immediately and slide away, shut doors, nothing for Mr or Mrs dingo here. All our garbage goes into a specially built container on the rear door of our Patrol, that feature gets a lot of attention from other campers. Son & daughter in laws first visit didn't fare well. He placed all their food in an Esky (cooler) wedged it under vehicle. Next morning, Esky opened (catches didn't deter dingo), all meat product gone, can of beetroot chewed open, content gone, can pineapple likewise. They then had to restock at island prices. Lesson learnt, they now live out of their vehicle as we do. It's a great nature lovers paradise, but remember, natural habit of dingoes, monitors, huge goannas at all transfer stations and what a dingo doesn't get to, the crows will, so just lock everything away and enjoy paradise.
