My question is ..when would a celebrity ask for gift cards or bitcoin??

Stay in your league people. If you are old or out of shape, be honest with yourself and accept that this person your speaking with is probably a scammer
@balfrey19822 ай бұрын
What does being old or out of shape have to do with being scammed? Anyone can be scammed regardless of what you look like or how old you are. Your logic is if someone is young or well maintained, they are talking to the person? It's gullible or vulnerable people who get scammed. Not just old or out of shape. That's shallow thinking.

I think a lot of the victims of this are older people who might be in the early stages of dementia and don't realize it yet. It creeps up on a person slowly and it can be hard to realize when it's happening because it can affect people in really weird ways and they can seem pretty normal to people who don't know them well, for a very long time. And they think they're fine and refuse to admit anything is wrong with them. I think whenever a person over a certain age falls for something like this, no matter how healthy and functional they seem, they should be required by law to see a doctor and get tested. I don't know how they could do that, but it needs to be done, for the sake of their adult kids who really suffer having to clean up their parent's mess. The kids need to take legal control over the parent's bank accounts and power of attorney if something like this happens. It's similar to the situations where they have to take away their parent's car once they have an accident and prove that they're not safe to drive anymore, even though the parents think they are. That's what I think this is.
@unknowncircumstances80828 күн бұрын
@@Melissa0774 It's not so much dementia but delusion. The people that are being scammed often get suspicions early, but the deeper they get into it the more it would hurt if the had to face the reality, so they rather follow through with the procedures and still be able to talk to their fav celeb until they eventually break down at some point or family members intervene or all their money's gone and the scammer moves on...

The problem is facebook doesnt shut down those accounts when reported. Both of my parents are lonely and live alone and have starter talking to fake accounts and are convinced they are the real celebrity. It's incredibly frustrating that they are not thinking logically, but this is what happens as people get older. Their judgment and rationality start to become impaired.
