From my expirence in highschool, the jocks especially the confident ones actually cared about grades and success and were in the honor role classes. After high school they were fine. The so called nerds spent way too much time playing video games and watching movies at home, like myself were the kids in the intermediate or special ed classes. I graduated high school in 2017. I now work in a warehouse in an ugly industrial area. And I still love my video games, music and movie's... And I've never been on a date. But I am original and really creative.

The children will just accept their beatings waiting to become the next Steve Job and to pass the time they watch Monty Python, instead studying financial responsibility or Computer engineering to actually become like Steve Jobs. Oh and if they invent an awesome device but don’t have the confidence or Networking (Social) skills to promote it

To an extent I can understand why people don’t care for most educational course, considering the information you learn is pretty much useless and in the real world and poorly taught. But, you must be educated despite how broken the school system is. It also eliminates irresponsible people because if you can’t “keep up in the classroom how can you keep up in a game”.

You’re correct that many players do, because you must meet curricular requirements before extracurricular activities and athletes can get college scholarships. But, some don’t care and the coaches are corrupt and only care about winning games instead of the players. So they help the players cheat until seasons over. I have seen this so many times and tried to help but you can’t care more than someone else.

Though it still hurt to see people with the potential to do good become nothing but again if you truly want to be the best you must be willing to push yourself not only in practice but in the classroom and life. As for interest I have many, I can’t just stare at a wall and wait for the next event. That when the bad voices come (shudder). Kidding but seriously life would be so boring with only sports.

Ask yourself does the teacher look to be the pinnacle of success? No, he didn’t acquire the car, the apartment or the girl. Watching Monty Python to assuage the pain of being abused in High School doesn’t give you the skills to run a Fortune 500 company. Honestly, if they do create some success in life they will most likely become jerks to their subordinate thus continuing the cycle of hate.

Why must being a “Jock” and a “Nerd” be mutually exclusive? Can’t I improve my body through sports and improve my mind by reading classic literature?Sidenote; considering the A/V teacher is not a C.E.O. of a Fortune 500 company would you really trust him as a guide? He took all that mental and physical abuse for nothing and is telling kids to do the same. I know it’s a movie but still they should be improving their self-esteem and social skills not watching British comedies to assuage the pain.

This is just a movie, this isn't real. Look back when you were in highschool. I saw a bully in every different shape, size and color regardless if they were jocks or geeks. And everyone hated that bully. Don't you remember some nice jocks and nice geeks? We never saw a group of the same color or same tag hanging out in the same place. I saw a mix of people hanging out in different groups. BTW this doesn't apply to the 70s or 80s if you were in highschool at that time you're royally fucked.
