I just can’t get over the fact that Fred and Red Fang are buds. Two entities, one who is one of my favorite actors/comedians and the other, one of my favorite bands. Not only great at what they do, but also seem like they’d just be fun to hang out with. Keep making awesome stuff guys!

“You could afford to disappoint your parents…” greatest line in the entire interview. I met these guys a few times at UCSD & the Casbah in San Diego (and once at Pappy & Harriet’s) and they were great. I didn’t really “hang” with them as I had to usually get home and relieve the babysitter but they were very cool & and always put on an amazing show. Their sense of humor is the best, only second to how great the music is.

One of the funnest bands ever. I wish my family and I could catch them here in DC. Fred, you are just awesome. Clever and insightful in your humor. You’re a national treasure.

Great band, I discovered their music on random spotify (thanks algo-rythm). I then saw the video clips and I just also thought it was perfect. Anways, how about making a fake serious clip, with rubber, smoke and slow-mo that would be fucking hilarious. Also a great excuse for creating a new song that fit that concept.

i'm biased, and being a drummer i'm not sure how well you can tell it's a 12, but the guitarist for 1 of my past bands, Paul Crandell from Paranaut (portland, OR psychedelic progressive doom metal) plays an electric 12 string on the song "Terminus" and picks it as fast as a 6 string in parts. His youtube channel for this and all his various solo projects: "P Crandell".

“Do a serious video.” Is this interview the origin of the concept for “Why”?

@@achachakband I think any acoustic 12-string you hear in High On Fire is actually the bassist, Jeff Matz. He added some Turkish baglama to the newest record, too. Matt has played a custom 9 string electric in the past though (the three highest strings are doubled)
