Best swing flow I’ve ever seen. Effortless harmonic magic swing. Seems an awesome man as well.

One of the smoothest swings you will ever see, Ernie Els is another that comes to mind. Using a yellow ball because he can't see...LOL maybe.

I agree. The best swing in golf bar none.

@@topmech71 Malnati won with a yellow ball, hah. Fred Couple has Steelfiber shafts. I have them coming in a new set because my joints can no longer handle steel. My golfing prime is over, now enjoying the slow sunset. It's ok. I've always enjoyed chasing the sun to finish a round.

I'll attempt to go poetic on this one: Watching Fred Couples brings back childhood memories. Of sitting on the couch with my Dad on Sunday evenings, watching these tournaments, with Jim Nantz narrating, and being able to hear the chirp of the birds from the tournament come across the broadcast. My Dad was a huge Freddy fan, and I naturally liked him as well. But, who wouldn't. His swing is so relaxed, and seems to coincide with his personality: totally relaxed, not taking things overhwelmingly seriously.

Freddy reminds any golfer that hitting the ball correctly with tempo is the most important thing you can do for a successful golf swing....truly a thing of beauty and excellent video.

Mr. Granch - Thanks for posting these videos of Mr. Couples. I still follow him every chance I get. Many years ago I played to a 2 handicap and patterned my swing after Fred. I'm 77 now and haven't been on a course in 23 years due to a motorcycle accident. I still have Fred's old driver and 3-wood. I just started to swing my clubs again and hope to get out on the links again soon. These videos of Fred inspire me to work on my game and mimic his great rhythm. Thanks again.

Got to see him tee off at Monday's practice round. Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods had to make sure everyone was watching before hitting their drives. Then Boom-boom just goes up, puts his ball on the tee, and hits a beautiful drive. No unnecessary preamble, just a great golfer.

It's unfortunate that this man, Fred Couples, is a mortal man and won't live and play golf forever, because it would sure be nice to keep seeing him play this game forever. Hands down, he is the owner of the most beautiful and majestic golf swing in the history of golf. And there may never be another Fred Couples for as long as the game of golf is played by humans.
@King3star2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting this video. Back in the day, Couples made a few video's. One was 'Tempo'. I watched that video so many times and patterned my own swing after his. Legendarily rhythmic, smooth, effortless. Just a beautiful swing to watch. Thanks again, Mike.

I unrealistically still root for Fred to win this thing. He’s my guy and it’s tough watching the people you root for forever get older. That said, he still has the length to compete at this course, that’s why he’s here. He’s so damn close that if he makes that first long putt, he could catch fire with the putter. Get to even or +1 and make the cut and go from there. One more run baby, it would be GREAT.

I'm the same way. Can't sleep on Freddy. He's always there. I'm like, "C'mon, just one more!"
@mangravy20002 жыл бұрын
He's made respectable runs in the last 10 years but the older he gets the stronger the field gets. Pro golfers have picked up 6 strokes over their 1960s counterpart.
@greengrass10722 жыл бұрын
@Fred Wills No, not really, but you’re right. He’s 62 years old and could still pound it, that’s what I meant. It would help if he played more than once since Thanksgiving also, that might help with the ball placement. Only once was he able to go for the green on a par 5 on his second shot due to where he hit his drive. Don’t even get me started on his putting. The two rounds this year, he left every single putt short and it seemed like he had the right line on most of them. It got to the point where I wasn’t hoping he made one, but that he went past the hole for once. Putting was never really a strength of his anyway.
@Simon-nv5zj2 жыл бұрын
@@greengrass1072 unfortunately, he cant pound it anymore. hes averaging something like 280 off the tee which is btm of the ladder. Hes 62, so its to be expected. H ewill always remain one of my favourites to watch especially at the Masters.
@geuros3 ай бұрын
I'm still also rooting for him and honestly when he's +2 when leaders are on -2 in 2nd round, not bad. In 2012 he was co-leading after 3rd round I think, and he still has it. I just think he needs to score early, he tends to get more exhausted for the 4th round

I like Fred Couples and the way he swings. Seems his iron play and approach shots are what gave him fits and in trouble. I watched the first 7 holes of the video and his Driver he hit very well.

Freddy's sun has set. He isn't even that competitive on the Senior Tour nowadays but he is still great to watch make a difficult game look easy. The three smoothest swingers of the golf club that I have ever witnessed (in no particular order) are: Sam Snead, Ernie Els, and Fred Couples. Plus all hit with power as well.
